Had some time today to practice on a new honed skill "plastic welding".
This could be considered a DIY as I took the opportunity to play with an already broken plastic assembly of two parts that join via hole and tab insert. The practicality of my approach was mainly to keep the parts as true to material as possible and also avoid having to buy a new part and use my tools. The time invested felt like 2.5 hrs. This is my first attempt at "plastic welding". So I enjoyed learning on what the end result yielded. Sure the fix could have been approached in many ways however I wanted to practice this skill and share with everyone on how practical this approach can be for other applications and uses... my application and use was a layered weld.
