Tire Questions

So I need new tires for my 650GC. I've been reluctant on my last 3 cars to ditch the runflats, but now I think I may finally do it. Looking for something in a 285/30/20 in the rear and 245-255/35/20 in the front. I don't track my car. I live in SoCal so weather is not much of an issue. I'm looking for a tire at a reasonable cost, minimal low road noise, and decent performance. Suggestions?

I know they aren’t the cheapest option, but I replaced the OEM run flats with Michelin PSS4 and the whole dynamic of the car changed. Apparently they have great tread life so maybe the cost will even out somehow? At least that is what I tell myself to justify the cost. Tire noise and comfort are better than any tire I have used, and my car is on 21x25x295.

I am running the Nitto NT 555 G2, smooth quiet ride, excellent wet and dry handling and great tread life... this my 2nd set

I think the Pilot Sports are unanimously considered the best out there. I am strongly considering those.

Good to know. I was looking at those and they seem to be a great value. I've ran Nittos in the past on other cars and was fairly pleased.

Yea it keeps the car planted nicely in corners with the H&R springs and with the Jb4 tune and xdrive launch is phenomenal!!

I strongly considered the Michelin Pilot Sports A/S 3+ since they are highly rated and priced reasonably. However, the research I did suggested that All Seasons compromise wet/dry performance at least a bit in order to kind of be a "jack of all trades." Since I live in Southern Cal, there is really no reason for me to accept the trade-off since my car will never see snow.

I started reading that and just thought but that guy is in SoCal!

Just go with PS4 or PS4S, best tyres out there

they are a very good A/S tire if that's your thing, but I think they have limited sizing available in the staggered setups most are using here.

Haha....So Cal where we have only one season. You're right though...I've pretty much narrowed down my choices to the Conti Extreme Contact Sport or the older PSS which I can get at a pretty good price.
