BMW 640i GT best tires for comfort and low cabin noise

Hey folks, I have a 2018 BMW 640i GT xdrive. I love the car but I hear some road and tire noise especially on speeds higher than 50 mph. The car currently has pirelli pzero all season plus tire, the rubber is a revised compound (non run flats). Do you have any recommendations on better tires for optimum ride quality, comfortable and reduced noise levels?

I visited BMW dealership and they recommended the pirelli p zero run flats z4 and told the rubber material is rsc BMW which is suppose to give better comfort.

I need your advice and appreciate your help. Cheers!

I haven't replaced the tires on my 6 series yet, but I have Michelin Pilot Sport All Seasons on my 535i and really love them. I've had Continental Extreme Contacts before and they were good as well. Just two options I've used and would recommend.

Re: Dealer suggestion-Its hard to imagine a runflat being quieter than what you have now. Unless things have changed dramatically, runflats are/were notorious for being noisy with less comfort due to the stiff sidewalls required for a flat. Having had a number of flats on my previous 535 the sidewalls are indeed very, very stiff and held the car up with 0 air psi.

I currently have Pirelli Cinturato P7 245/45R19 runflats and find them to be fine for my purposes.
You could check out Tirerack.com. This site will give you a variety of choices that will fit. Pay attention to the ratings as well from real owners. Very useful site when tire shopping.

I would recommend when you have some time to browse websites like https://www.discounttire.com/ or https://www.tirerack.com/content/tir.../homepage.html and read up on some of the surveys and comparison tests about the various tires available for your BMW model.

This can give you an idea of whats out there in regards to types of tires, various brands, and how they compare to each other in not just a subjective way...but with some actual data (road noise, braking distance, traction, acceleration, etc).

Good luck.

I switched to Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 in February and have been very pleased. I removed a new set of summer Pirelli P-Zero run flats that had been put on during the CPO process.

I just replaced my Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4s with the new Pirelli WeatherActive tires a few weeks ago and so far I'm very happy. Quiet, damps expansion joints nicely and my fuel economy on a trip increased about 2 mpg.
