18 m6 gc vs 19 m5
So I've owned 15 650 gc now for almost 4 years - just last month installed bootmod3 tune ( something u should have done day 1)
650 gc is great but we all know it's not an M Question: cars .... With used car market so high do I wait for months and just spend $70-80k for used f90 m5 with all latest gadgets and get noelle tune Or Get 17-18 m6 gc ( which I love the looks) but I already had same style car for past 4 years on time of body style that's been out since 2014 (whereas m5 only since 18) Other consideration is 17-18 x5m - but again it's already old body style I've had several Ms in past & cant wait to get back into one - just curious thoughts on ... - m6 gc 17/18 - x5m 17-18 - m5 18/19 Appreciate any and all feedback Thanks everyone!!

Agreed. I also think the m6 is rare, head turners for sure.

Not in looks. I am not even sure it is faster than M6 GC in rolling race

I have had an '18 M6 GC from near new for 3 years now and have contemplated about the swap to an F90 (pre LCI) M5 - and can't seem to justify the change… The M5 feels even more digital than the M6, will never look as good as the M6, and will never feel quite as special as the M6. Yes, it's faster on the straight line, but there is a fair number of them on the road, whereas seeing an M6 is always an event. In my case, the extra investment is just not justified (here down under both are significantly more expensive)…
So, you better define what a "better car" means to you, but one thing is for sure - exactly as the OP says, 650 is not an M… Really, won't go too much wrong regardless which one you drive… |

You won't go wrong. Both are awesome
- M5 has all the latest and greatest tech. Better seating for 5 people (I really considered the 6 GC a two seater with rear token seats). More options. And biggest thing to me is the xdrive. Something I really wish BMW had in M cars sooner. 600HP to all 4 is a big deal and something I really like about the alpina B6. -M6, hands down better looking and a head turner. The m5 blends in unless you pass another car guy. It seems everyone appreciates the 6 series as you probably know from yours. Also keep in mind you will probably see a lot more M5's on the road than M6's If it were me, m5 as a daily driver for sure here in the north east. Although if I were looking for something seasonal, I'd take the M6. Again, you won't go wrong with either. Last edited by NGROSSO; 04-27-2021 at 04:44 PM.. |

So none of these answers made it any easier - board seems split just like myself
I think if the right color combo. M6 gc pops up I may just do it - top 2 exteriors: - Frozen black -Or frozen bronze If not I wait n get closer to m5 territory!

As stated above, why not just hold on 2 years and go right to m8?!

It's an option - I actually like look on m6 gc over m8 gc but I'm sure that will change w time
I do feel m6 one of best looking cars on the road today still! I could wait a year and maybe assume a lease n get decent deal as I did that in the past several times ... It's just I've had this car for a while and as a car guy got to itch to upgrade .... Maybe I should get e36 track / weekend car to keep me content for now !?
