Michelin PS4S are amazing and PZero's are shit
The title sums it up.
My M6 has been transformed from being out of control in 2nd gear to just hooking up and going with these tyres. My PZero's still had 5mm left on them and I don't regret 'wasting' the tread and taking them off the car. There is no way I could ever recommend anyone keeps PZero's on their car after driving my M6 on PS4S tyres. |

Man if you think the ps4s are good, try the cup 2's! I just switched from the 4S, and they are significantly better! Probably 20% stickier than the 4S. Definitely worth the premium!

How are the sport cup 2 in the rain? That's really the main reason I'd choose the 4s over them, where I live we can get a bit of rain and standing water.

CUP 2 in rain is a deathwish.. its a more aggressive trackday tire than p4s. p4 is the all-rounder, sacrificing that last bit of grip for more everyday usability. And yes, zeros SUCK compared to p4s!!

I was tempted to go with the Cup 2 at the rear but I do 20k miles a year and it rains a lot in Auckland so I thought the PS4S was the best option.

I wish I had a set of those first so I could compare but obviously it made no sense to me to buy a set of PSS now. Being able to hook up in 2nd on any road surface is the big win for me, previously there was only a single stretch of recently resealed motorway where I could get grip on my entire drive into work but now I can just floor it at any time and it just goes.

I run 315/30/20 Nitto NT01's all year round and they hook just fine in the rain. I have full traction in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd with 700whp+ on a stage 2 tune and mods. You have to know how to drive, tires aren't the only thing holding the car to the pavement, your foot plays a pretty big role, Lol

Access to 101oct and E85 will pick up that 50whp. Also it depends on the tuner. Mission performance can squeeze over 700whp on 91oct but will straight up tell you that down the road you will probably toast your motor. 91oct is garbage and no one should be pushing over 650whp on these cars on it.

TQ is right around 680 or less, I like it that way to get a good launch and keep the trans/clutches alive. I prefer more top end than low end as this car already makes too much low end torque with a stage 1 tune only.

I wouldn’t change from 265s... 2 problems when going wider: less agile and precise turn-in/handling; and exposing the side skirts to even more stones/debris from front wheels (wider tyre has the same effect as spacers).
The latter in particular is a bit of a challenge with M6, what are you guys doing to protect the skirts and side panels/front doors? I’ve considered clear film in the skirts, and perhaps ceramic coating is more resistant than wax/sealant only? I observed this in my F13, and the new F06 shows signs of this after less than 3k miles (no marks visible yet)... |
