Coolant Reservoir

I was cleaning my car today and smelled coolant so I opened the hood to check the coolant level at the reservoir, but I couldn't find it. I did find what looks like a coolant cap at the firewall on the driver's side, but no reservoir. I got on the iDrive and looked for the reservoir location and all I could find was COOLANT LEVEL. It says to take it to the dealer to have them check it. This is BS, first the dipstick, and now the coolant bottle.
