Out tonight - did a launch control and ran up to about 105mph. Backed off and got back down to 45-50 - then at stop sign - stopped and got Drivetrain malfunction error. Car was just low power for 2-2.5 miles, then right before stopping started to get a shaking. Stopped car and turned off - picked up my son and then started car - Drivetrain malfunction again - shaking worse - had to go 4 miles to home - no faster than 30mph.
Purchased Bimmerlink and read engine codes:

Any suggestions? I'm under CPO warranty currently (until next October). I plan to take it in but curious for any input. I have been reading posts about Drivetrain malfunctions - seems like it could be a lot of things...
Thanks!

first thing i would try is to check the state of plugs, see if any are a different colour. not sure how much poking around you would want to do when under warranty though.

would check all have spark then if each injector is firing

I'm definitely not mechanically inclined. I will check it later today, but I don't think this will clear on its own (saw previous posts where that has happened).
I will see if my service center says first thing Monday morning.

Thanks. I had it towed to the dealer yesterday - they will get to it tomorrow unless there is a cancellation.

Heard back from my SA - they are going to replace the high pressure fuel pump under CPO warranty - should just be the $50 deductible. I hope they are getting everything that needs to be replaced. One thing is for certain - I will be doing a lot of hard pulls until next summer in the hopes of shaking out any other components while still under warranty.

Good to hear they found it and yes that is one of the most likely causes of such issues. Yes you should definitely test the car through and that includes putting it under some strain.

Got a call late yesterday afternoon - car was done and ready to be picked up! The drive actually feels the same as before or possibly a bit better.

Nice to hear and also it appears you did not have to wait too long for the replacement pump to arrive. I am curious (but confident) if the problem is solved for good. Before you install BM3 it's advised to run the car a little harder and strain it somewhat to see how it behaves at its "stock stage". Keep us posted as always. And best of luck!
