Help with replaceing Fresh Air Grille Center
Hello! I didn't notice it when I purchased my car last August that the two air vents in the center of the dashboard were busted (plastic broke on the sides where you tilt the airflow direction).
I worked with my local parts dept and identified part # 64-22-9-197-486 and instead of paying them $250 plus taxes I got one off eBay for $140. I would like to see if I can do this swap out myself, but I'm looking for any pointers or references. Thanks! |

Ditto...I remember seeing the instructions on newtis.info when looking at info about how to change the START button.
If you cant find it on that site...try youtube. I say that because I believe the trim panel that surrounds the center vent & start button has to come off in some of the youtube videos that show how to pop that trim piece off. Once off, you flip the trim panel and center vent over and remove the screws that hold the two pieces together. Good luck...remember to post back your success so that others will know how to do it. Take some pics along the way in case it helps other, too.

If you have not done it yet, it is super easy. I could probably literally do it in 30 seconds since I have done it before. Right above the center of the steering wheel at the base of the cluster is a black plastic piece that sort of bridges between the two wood pieces on either side of the dash. That pulls straight out. Then take a plastic pry tool and remove the center wood piece - it comes out pretty easy and the vents come with it.
