Heimo loves the beaver tail and feet. I guess when you get hungry enough you will eat most anything

No, my hunter friend gave it to me. Despite the not very appetizing appearance ))) beaver meat is surprisingly tasty: something between a rabbit and an elk.

Carne asada tacos.

My wife and kids have basically moved to our house in Tahoe, so I'm home alone all week and making all kinds of stuff...and since I can't invite anyone over, I have lots of leftovers.

I plan to cook some chicken curry for tonight's dinner. My son's favorite. We will surely have a great dinner and after that, before we go to sleep I will set up the Tomcat mouse killer https://bestratpoison.org/tomcat-mouse-killer-reviews/ to get rid of those rats and have a good night sleep.

The owner of Cuban Pete's in Montclair NJ is so bravely defending himself from executive orders issued by our Governor I made sure I drove over there and had dinner. I very-much enjoyed their churrasco and a small pitcher of mojito. Before I left I had a brief word of encouragement with the owner and made sure he knew I drove 16 miles (about 25 minutes) just to support him.

My DW was at our local beef farm last weekend, and they had beef specially sliced for making rouladen. Not being German, she asked the farmer what rouladen was. She picked a recipe from online, and gave it a shot tonight. Although my doctors would kill me for eating bacon and pickles, it was pretty good for a change over the usual boring stuff that we call dinner.

There aren't many German restaurants around here, but I do want to try it as cooked by a chef familiar with German food to see if there's any difference.....

I also prepped tomorrow’s dinner while watching college football. I used the rub (which smells pretty strong) from here (but nothing else and didn’t butterfly the tenderloin):

https://www.epicurious.com/recipes/f...rloin-51239020

These are Solomillo Ibérico de Bellota, a fairly hard to find pork tenderloin from acorn fed Ibérico pigs. Have never made it before but will grill them tomorrow. Will post pics tomorrow unless I really screw them up.

That's respectable, well done. Last week I had lunch at Buddy's at Conant and Davison. The birthplace of Detroit-style pizza.

Tonight for dinner was burger maison, house burger.

It's a 4 oz pre-cooked weight, pan-seared ground sirloin burger that is different each time. Tonight it was shallots, garlic and rosemary sauteed in olive oil, butter, and the burger juices as they cooked. Served with green salad simply dressed and garnished with lemon confit. Fresh strawberries for dessert.

This evening's twist was a sauce made from pan juices, beef broth and cognac, reduced to a syrupy consistency. It was...wow.

To quote Jacques Pepin, "a recipe is an expression of an idea at a moment in time." For me burger maison is like that, it changes every time, yet remains burger maison.

Is it chicken curry or curry chicken? There seems to be a debate

It doesn't really matter. Both users failed the Turing test, aka they are retro-posting SEO spambots posting gibberish so that they can post SEO links once this page cycles off into forum obscurity.....
