Heated Steering Wheel?

Ok, stupid question... I have a '14 650i GC with the M Package which is loaded. It seems there is no heated steering wheel - am I missing something? I love the feature on our X6, will be shocked if it's not on the GC as well...

Only if you have the additional "Cold Weather Package." It's a $450 add-on package above and beyond the M Sport Edition.

and the button is hidden - not like on our X6. Left side of the steering wheel, on the column. Lights up when you press it. If you have heated rear seats, you should have it.

Heated steering wheel is the best £140 I spent! Small but must-add option!

New software upgrade adds an icon on digital instrument panel every time it is activated or deactivated so you don't need to look at the left of the steering column.

Yes I love the heated wheel and wouldn't live in The NorthEast without it.
A dash icon would be lovely. To check if the button is illuminated requires minor contortions and significant time not looking ahead.
Wonder if they can do that on this side of the pond?
Anyone here seen that?

I can't confirm this because my car is a '14, but according to what I've read, that issue was addressed in the MY15 6ers. Not that does you any good, but I thought you may like to know...

All models equipped with optional heated steering wheel (option 248):
An activation symbol now appears in the instrument cluster. This feature allows the driver to immediately notice if the heating is active, without having to look to the activation switch on the left side of the steering column.

my 6er is a Oct 2013 build. I've had the new steering heating activated/deactivated icon for a month since a recent software upgrade which among other things has improved the satnav rendering colours, perspective angles, smoothed out the movement and added new animated sequences.

I checked with my dealer and they claim no software update avail for the in-dash heated steering wheel indicator. If anyone in the USA has had this update on a '14 M Sport Edition, please advise. Also, would appreciate if someone could post a pic of the dash with the indicator on. Many thanks!

Exactly.
I'd love to know and see it.
And even if we can't have it, would like to know what it looks like.

Only GCs or all 15 6ers?
Would still like to see a pic of the icon if someone across the pond would share.
Just to be jealous

Would also be curious to know on what specifically you base this statement.

Well, I checked with someone who does coding and he confirmed - but of course that's not true proof. However, I seem to remember reading it and yes, for 2015, almost every BMW got this "feature". Although they do not specifically say the 6-series here, the 5, the 3, the 7, all got it

Got it, I see what you're saying. The coding part of it doesn't surprise me; without a software update there's no feature to code. Would think if '14 models got an update for it in the UK it is also possible in US if BMWUSA follows suit at some point in the future. One of the benefits of the all digital dash (which I know you're not a big fan of from your comments in the other thread - ha ha) is more flexibility via software updates. Much like the addition of the KPH display in all driving modes that was added via software update several months back. If we don't eventually get this update in the US, oh well, but I would very much like to see it as it's pretty annoying (and dangerous) to try to see if the light on the side of the steering wheel is on/off while driving. As we're headed into winter again it's fresh in my mind as something I think should have been there form the beginning. Much like the absence of electric trunk closing we've all griped about so many times. . .

Spoken - can you share which dash you have? Do you have the digital dash or the standard one? I'm curious if this feature is available on all dashes except the digital one!

NM - I see you DO have the digital dash. Can you please provide a picture of the heated wheel icon?
