If you could re-spec

Unashamedly stolen from the 8 series forum:

https://f92.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1716157

Curious to see if anyone would change anything from their spec, options they paid for that weren't needed or options missing.

NZ models like mine are all quite highly specced with ventilated seats, surround view, full leather, alcantara headliner, rear sunblind and similar.

The only options to my car are the black 343m wheels, competition package and tyre pressure monitoring - everything else was standard here with the only remaining options that it doesn't have are the massaging seats, ski hatch, B&O sound, night vision and carbon ceramic brakes.

I'd be keen for the massaging seats and will soon upgrade from the Harmon Kardon speakers to a Bavsound setup so I'm not fussed about the B&O option.

The colour combo on my car isn't exciting though, Singapore Grey paint with black Merino leather - I'd have had Imperial Blue, San Marino Blue, Tanzanite Blue or Moonstone quite happily out of the standard colour range. Depending on which one of those external paint colours that car had I'd have happily had Sakhir Orange or Champagne leather instead of the black I have. Maybe in San Marino Blue I could have Silverstone or Platinum leather as well.

I would build this:

2015
Frozen Sliver
6MT
CCBs
Base stereo
Carbon Interior
Canyon Brown
343s
ZCP
MPE

Ok, valid, if I was in North America I'd 100% go 6Mt, but:

6MT + ZCP + preLCI? Or 7DCT + ZCP + LCI? Or 6MT + LCI?

I don't know if I could make that call.

Only upgrades I'd like are the LCI NBT system and MPE (both can be upgraded fairly easily, will probably get the Bimmertech Android Auto which isn't factory anyway)

Otherwise I was lucky to find the spec I wanted: ZCP, SMB, Black Extended, 433, B&O.

I don’t know... Actually really happy with my SMB/Silverstone, and has all the bells and whistles I would have wanted. Night Vision is the only thing that could be nice to have, but not really necessary. If any other colour, perhaps Pure Metal Silver, but the more I’m thinking about it, no... So, I think I have exactly the M6 I wanted, and the upgraded sound system is the icing on the cake!

I actually had the option to order a new car after my previous M6 was purchased back by the supplying dealer after a cock some insurance repair work.

Like an idiot I spec'd an identical car black on black however this time with B&O, heated rear seats, heated wheel, and blinds, not to fussed for cooled seats, CCBs, night vision etc

With hindsight should have opted for an M only colour or may be an individual one like pure metal.

Next time !!

Having close to a fully loaded 640i GC, i would only add a heated steering wheel and maybe B&O not necessarily for the sound, but for the design.
Would stick with vermillion red interior, but instead of white exterior, would opt for a frozen bronze, metallic gray, or silver.
Could live without the rear shades, ventilated seat (great idea, but not so good execution) or lane departure warning.
Everything else the same!

Only thing I'd potentially change up is perhaps going for a Frozen color as well. Although I suppose that can be accomplished by the XPEL stealth wrap as well

I love my Tanzanite Blue in the sun, but it usually looks too dark. San Marino blue would have been better. My canyon brown leather is great. Love the manual - but manual meant no competition package.

Pretty much this, my bang and olufsen system sucks. Wouldíve rather just upgraded stock stereo. Ironically the Bowers and Wilkins system in my 750 is phenomenal. Stock brakes are sketchy with this heavy car. I didnít realize how rare the 6MT was. Something tells me these M6ís will be worth something, some time down the road. I wish I had some extra cash to waste because I would definitely be on the hunt for a 6MT just to test drive at least.

Definitely 6MT with ZCP. LCI is purely cosmetic. I actually prefer the turn signals on the bottom, it looks unique and unlike other BMW LEDs of similar vintage.

The NBT over time will get outdated, so it's not worth it to me.
