I was also enjoying a Super Bock Sagres 'sem alcool' beer yesterday at our favourite Portuguese restaurant celebrating our wedding anniversary.
Greetings my UKM5 friend -
Congrats on the wedding anniversary!

Some months ago, I remember you sending me UK beer info - will look these up and see if I can find them at a specialty shop.

Tell me about the great Portuguese restaurant! I travelled to Lisbon area (Cascais) on business in 2010 and the food was awesome. I was there one week to assist with pre-opening processes for this beautiful hotel:

Good morning Racerbruce.
The restaurant 'La Casita' we have been going to for years but missed for a while because of things that happened.Friendly waiter staff and not expensive at all with tasty food. Not really keen on the traditional Portuguese dishes as the wife is allergic to seafood, prawns, shrimps etc which are prevalent in a lot of their traditional dishes.I had peri peri chicken while the rest had rib eye steaks and sirloin with french fries and salad while daughter and sister had Carbononara followed by ice cream for some of us and cappuccino coffees.
We then did some shopping in a Polish supermarket nearby for some delicacies and after leaving my sister to wander around the shops we headed for home.

Love this beer my friend . It's regarding "Martin's Pale Ale"
Martin's Pale Ale has British roots since "1909". But is/was always brewed in Belgium by Palm beers .

Gulden Drak at 10.5 alc,wow too strong for me my friend. I would try the well known Stella Artois at 5% alc, first brewed in Leuven but am a staunch ale man like Robin Hood was !

Stella Artois is 30 min. from my home .
Cristal Alken is a better beer from higher quality and is 15 min. from my home .
Of course I did already a brewery tour in Alken and is now Alken-Maes .
Alken-Maes, Maes, Grimbergen, Mort Subite, Cristal Ciney, Judas, Tourtel, Watneys and Cristal, among others, are produced and commercialized.

However, both are Belgian regular beers but not bad at all ..

I also like the English dark Scotch beer with pieces of cheese and celery salt . In specialized business we drink them in a tin chilled cup

''Roll out the Barrel
Lets have some Barrel tonight
What we want is Watneys Red Barrel''...sung by many football fans. It's from an advertising song when this beer was popular here in fact it was once Britains best selling and I believe rights were passed on to Heineken in 2008.
I am not aware of the English dark Scotch beer, an interesting brew there.
