No…for the f06 the module that controls the EDC shocks is in the front passenger footwell near the A pillar. See A49 (the VDM module) in the 2nd image below.

BTW, on the f06…EDC has morphed into the function of the VDM (vertical dynamics management).

I’m not sure how successful that will be…you may end up being the trail blazer for this modification….and you’ll be the one letting the rest of the collective if it works or not.

When I read the info above…under the last heading “STRUCTURE AND INNER ELECTRICAL CONNECTION”…it says the front right shock (satellite) is directly connected to the VDM by FlexRay…where as the other 3 shocks are connected to the central gateway module (ZGM) module by FlexRay.

If you pull the plug to stop the front right shock from working…will that cause the other 3 to stop working when they communicate with a different module? Is the VDM a single function control module…or are there other functions that could be affected if the VDM is unplugged?

You didn’t mention what your project is all about or why you’re doing it…but here’s some more info about VDM and how it is connected to other control modules and systems.

Again, I don’t know how unplugging the electrical connector to the VDM will affect the car and the control modules and systems (DSC/DDC/SZL/ICM) that communicate with it. Perhaps the info below will be of help…especially if you get some check control warnings or issues from some of the interconnected systems.

Good luck.

Thank you for all the info. How did you find all the info?? What site?

I'm going to be installing air suspension. Thats the reason I'll need to code out the edc/vdm.

I disconnected the vdm, got an error, coded the car, and all is well. It works! The only thing about it, I lost comfort+.

Ah...that paints a clearer picture as to the whys of your project.

I was wondering if you'd still have all of your DDC (driving dynamics control) modes...and it looks like you lost one of the modes that isn't used that much anyways.

Check your PM.
