Hi guys!

Been contemplating the idea of installing the factory reversing camera? At the time I wasn't too bothered as the radar sensors are really good but now that I've driven another 6 series with this option I want it lol!

I dare not ask the dealers yet as they will have a grand time charging some silly!

I've seen alternatives where the camera is exposed above the licence plate but am not a fan of this setup plus it's no where near as cool as the motorised version.

I've seen second hard parts scattered on eBay but wondered if there are full kits out there?

Any ideas welcome!

My son is wanting to do this on his F250 pickup by making the Ford logo flip up. We've only just started looking at this as well but if when we find something I'll post it back here.

I was backing into a spot at Home Depot and a lady waited for me to get out of my car so she could say “your little BMW thingy flipped up! That’s so cool!”

Hello mate can you take a pic of the wiring please? Id like to compare it to what i have gathered from sourcing the parts for this job. Ive got the rear camera, module, and partial wiring. Very interested in the length of any hsd cables used.

Attached intructions i found below for this job. Good luck!

Most dealers will not do post sale retrofits even with oem parts. You may be better off going to an indy that specializes in high end euro cars. For sure the motorized flip reverse camera is super cool. One thing I wish I had on my old 5 series. Love my 640.... But wish it had the power lift gate like my 5 series did. Can't win them all right.

Or why didn’t BMW compromise and at least give the f06/f12/f13 the simple soft-close trunk which has been a BMW staple for decades.

Bmw kills it on the options list, we end up with cars under optioned out. My goal is to retrofit as much as i can over the next few years. Im missing cameras, rear blinds, rear climate control, rear heated seats, leather glovebox to complement the beautiful dash, leather airbag, ceramic controls, piano black trim, I want it all.

Honestly didn't know about the leather glove box. I have the "velour" type glove box. Definately need the power lift gate which I've seen retrofit options available. Added a leather steering wheel wrap with perforated leather sides and white stitching to compliment the trim accent and perforated seats. Anyone got a post number to that glove box?

The glovebox (and other lower dash components) was covered in leather if you got the extra-cost Individual interior. But those colors don't match the standard leather colors.

Just an FYI in regard to what the interior parts are covered with based on the car’s leather option (Dakota/Nappa/Merino):
