Nonsensical laws
Curious to see what kind of BS laws you have where you live.
I was thinking about the "nanny state" that more and more is being implemented, punishing parents for educating their kids for example. Whenever you have MORE state, more BS laws are created. In Canada, you have to wear a helmet when riding a bike and a seatbelt when driving. It makes sense for the state to control these things since everyone pays for healthcare should you get injured. I never understood why the US mandates seat belts, for example. Seems like a BS law. Whatcha got? |

I would've lived my whole life thinking exhaust fumes were extremely healthy.

In my state: Any motorist who sights a team of horses coming toward him must pull well off the road, cover his car with a blanket or canvas that blends with the countryside, and let the horses pass.
This is why all laws need expiration dates. |

The old blue laws from the 1700's originated by the pilgrims in Connecticut. It was on the state books till 1959 forbidding the sale of hammers on Sundays, (but you could buy nails because there wasn't a law against it) because Sunday was the holy day, and working was forbidden. Lots of alcohol prohibition laws on Sundays too. You couldn't buy alcohol during the morning while church services were taking place. Come 1PM in the afternoon you could then buy all alcohol you wanted and I'm sure some of the church goers were shit faced by 2PM that law was never enforced after 1955. In Utah there was a strange law saying you could marry your cousin only if your were 65 or older. Crazy stuff!

A law that says you can't have an open container of alcohol in the passenger area. So you can technically drink a beer while driving lol, although I wouldn't want to have that conversation with an officer on the side of the road.

I think DUI laws should be more relaxed. If you can prove you can drive well with a couple of beers in you, you shouldn't be penalized.
For the record, I haven't received a DUI, but I've seen people get them after passing those difficult tests on the side of the road. |

Most people don’t know it, but CO has free range laws that permit horses, cattle and other livestock on ALL roadways and cars must yield right of way. They are also exempted from havibg to pick up the animals waste. This is rarely seen anymore, but once in awhile you will see someone ride a horse down the shoulder of major city roads.

But you are right, in that the FST can provide the officer with reasonable suspicion or probable cause that you're intoxicated.
