You don't need driving shoes to go to and from work, even with a clutch.

Alright, well I can't really heel and toe properly with dress shoes. But maybe that's because I don't drive with them often enough to be able to practice.

For casual shoes, I'd say anything that is light and has a flat bottom. Kinda like these: http://www.zappos.com/images/108/108...01-15648-d.jpg

Why do you need to heel/toe while going to work? The work hours are the absolute worst hours to do this due to traffic and police. Are you trying to get another ticket?

Probably anything that is a loafer. Nice and light, comfortable and relatively flat.

No point in heel-and-toeing if you're not going fast. Just downshift without the brakes...

Doesn't fit his dress code.

Think of something all black.

Nabil, try some Eccos, very comfortable, a bit pricey but they have a lot of pairs that look nice. Can you get away with a black sneaker at work?

Mocassins scream 40+ year old to me.

Loafers might be your best bet. They can be older but sophisticated.
