6GT dead in USA as of June 2019

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but BMW NA is killing the 6GT in the US as of June 2019. I had emailed my SA to see about order out times, as I was considering one, and found out that just isn't going to be possible. That unfortunately is a bit sooner than I was planning on ordering, so it is getting removed from my list. No plans to bring a 5 Series Estate over in it's place...

Sad. I've always loved this car, particularly the interior luxury. Family favorite too. Unfortunately, the driver's seating height dropped when it transferred from a 5GT to 6GT, making it harder for me to get up out of the car. So now that I'm coming up on my next purchase, I think I'm going with the X7.

Well, I just purchased a 2016 M6 yesterday, so that makes it even more rare I guess. This is my very first post here, as a reply first so they'll allow me to post new threads later. I'll post a couple of pictures then.

EDIT: Sorry, wrong section of the forum. I thought this was the M6 Grand Coupe section. Disregard... lol

Says here that the 3GT is being killed, but the 6GT is "here to stay".

This was per my SA, he said that they will not be able to be ordered after June 2019. This was in regards to an inquiry on delivery time for a few vehicles I am considering. I highly doubt it is just due to him being misinformed, as BMW of Austin usually carried at least one or two 6GTs on the lot all the time.

Its a bummer really. Yes the cars will be more exclusive but parts and service will become more expensive. Its not BMW's fault, it happens to all manufacturers and is based on consumer preferences.

Lucky for us it is the 3GT that is being cancelled and not the 6GT.

Garage List
BMW please offer a 5 or 7 GT to replace the 6!

I got the 6GT for my wife and it is the PERFECT family car! It's got the M sport wheels, carbon black with Ivory interior and loaded. I love the drive and the looks. I hope they do a 5 or 7 to replace it.

6GT is removed from Build a Vehicle on BMWUSA. Not sure when it was removed, but it is recent.

At least 2-3 weeks.

Since the car is already NHTSA crash tested, maybe they can continue making the case like the Volvo V90 non-cross-country. None on dealer lots — strictly a made to customer order option.
