LED headlight with windburn ?

I went to see a 2015 BMW 650i GC, 34k miles, one owner, LED headlights looked like they had 100k miles on them, windburned (small cracks on the inside and oxidation, I of course left the dealership. Before I keep looking, my suspicions were that someone somewhere swapped the headlights out, I just want to make sure this isn't a normal thing.

All my BMWs had more than 50k miles with lots of highway traveling with the headlights on and never looked like they did with this 650i with only "34k" miles.

Absolutely not normal. And those headlamps are about $3,000.00 each...

the LED headlamps run very hot. If the Lens are covered in anything but XPEL clear bra film they will most likely overheat and cause stress cracking to occur to the lens. there have been a few people who put tinted film on the lens and experienced the same issue. the lens can not expand with the film on it. the issue here is most likely that the headlights were covered, and the film was removed after to be sold.

Understandable. I'm not sure how bad those were, but when I bought my 650 the headlights had some oxidation. (30K miles)
A nice wet sanding, polishing, and sealant did the job now they look crystal clear.
