Tire size inquiry
Has anyone assessed the increase of the tire size to 275f/305r ? Is it better handling putting power to the road as well as cornering? Has any body assessed on the track? There has been some messages but wondering what to go with. Thanks

yep i'm at 275F and 305R on michelin pilot 4S's.. And its much much better at putting the power down. It still struggles and is a handful but light years better than when i was on the p Zeros on stock profile. I did track it once, and its a big difference, the amount of grip from the 4S is amazing.
I also did some suspension tweaks w camber/toe for track driving, nothing too aggressive but definitely diff than stock. I recommend it! |

Thank you for the feedback, what suspension mods did you do? Did you use aftermarket parts? By the way, would you say it is the Michelin tires that made the difference or the size too?

I wouldn't say mods just tweaks to the stock settings; camber in rear and toe in front.
Its DEF the compound, the 4s is pretty much the latest tire tech. And of course, the size helps too! More contact patch = more grip. You can def make the car more aggressive for cornering by getting negative camber control arms, lowering springs, anti roll bars, etc. But I don't want to lose the comfort and driveability of the car for the sake of chasing lap times.. its not meant for full time trackduty. So i pretty much took it as far as I want to take for ocassional trackdays and not compromising comfort/driveability. |

Wider tire gives you better tracking but worse cornering.

Did you end up going with 275/305? Considering doing that as well, but the tire shop I went to recommended staying at 265 in the front. Wheels are aftermarket 9in/11in if it makes any difference

I have 275/305 and my cornering is much much superior to what it was before, albeit, with suspension tweaks. I highly recommend it, esp the michelin 4S

I'm running 265f and 295r on the ps4s right now and traction is still pretty non existent from 1st to 3rd. I'm switching to 275f and 305r on sport cup 2's next week. Will perform some traction tests and report back

Hey guys, just to be 100% correct, are these the correct tires in the correct oversizes?
Also, are we sure there are no rubbing issues? What if I lower the car an inch? Will it still be ok? I’m all in for extra grip because at 6,100 miles, my M6 rear tires are much lower than my fronts, and I have NO grip...it’s awful with these P Zeros |

Ok, next question...
I’m seriously considering new custom black wheels. What size rims do we have on our cars? There are so many to choose from, and I don’t want to make a mistake. I know they are 20”, but what about the width? Are they 10”wide in the front and 11” wide in the rear? Does it make any sense to have wider rims? I don’t want to go with 21”, as I don’t want to make the ride any stiffer, but does anyone go wider, and if so, why? Sorry if the question is dumb, just don’t want to make any mistakes I’m thinking of the Vorsteiner V-FF 103 Also, what about offset? And spacers? So confusing, lol... Thanks in advance for the education Last edited by Reliable1; 07-26-2018 at 07:51 PM.. |

The stock wheels are 9.5" 31mm front and 10.5" 19mm rear.
Plenty of people have run around 10-12mm spacers front and rear without problem. The 343m wheels are very light and are forged as well, I don't really see much point in changing them unless you're going for something that lets you run a 325/25r21 in the rear. |

I have the 601 wheels that come with the completion package and I’m looking for some more stylish gloss black wheels to compliment my San Marino Blue M6 GC

I do like those 433 style wheels!
I don’t hate my 601 wheels, see pic, but these Vorsteiner wheels would look really, really nice on my M6 I just installed the Black M6 grills (not shown in this pic) and am going to black out and CF a bit more of the car. I think a set of black wheels will look great! Last edited by Reliable1; 07-29-2018 at 09:04 PM.. |
