Making Chrome Accents Black - Paint or Wrap?
So I want to change the front grille, bumper accents, fender accents, and window sill from chrome to gloss black.
Right now the car is being repaired at a body shop who have said they can do spray it the colour I want, however it seems most people have tended to get it wrapped. My understanding is chrome can be impossible to paint over without fully sanding it down first. What would be the general consensus here? Can all these parts be wrapped in a gloss black and look good? Or can a competent body shop do an adequate job sanding it down and spraying the parts gloss black? I suppose too there is the resale element, whereby wrapping at least lets the next own choose between black or chrome. What should I do here? People who have done this, which route did you go down and what was best? |
