Older M6 convert or newer M4 convert?
Hey guys I am coming closer to being part of the BMW community. I am having trouble deciding between a 2016 m6 or a newer 2018 BMW m4. Both will have low mileage at under 30k. But they're almost the same price. I like the 6 because of how it looks and the presence it has on the road. The m4 I like because its smaller and more agile and easier to park and it's a hardtop convertible.
Which one would you pick and why? Thanks yuys |

I was originally looking at an M4 before picking up an M6. I test drove the M4 and although I liked it a lot, it reminded me a lot of my E46 M3, just newer. It would probably come down to what your intended purpose for the car is and which car is more practical.
But my vote is for the M6 simply because I don't like hardtop convertibles. Find a well optioned ride and enjoy it.

I suppose you know you will get a very biased response on this forum...
M6, no question, they are different caliber cars. M6 is all you can ever ask for from a seriously fast luxury car, and unless you do track days on tight tracks, drives better in almost all conditions. The size difference is not so big - the M4 is not exactly pint sized either... |

Get the M6. I was dead set on getting an M4 vert until I was convinced that owning an M4 was more of a kids car, not to mention there are M3/4s everywhere it seems. The M6 in my opinion is the better car in terms of performance, styling, and maintenance.

I just Traded in my M4 for an M6 best thing I've ever done tbh lol...
More Comfortable More luxury Faster The way the center is built around the driver is just stunning. Although the m4 was a very fun car but you'll want to grow out of it eventually and they depreciate quite fast not mentioning the new G-Series that will most likely come out in a year or 2 making you want that. While the m6 is now discontinued! |

I think if you're buying a coupe it is easier to argue the M4 is lighter and more nimble etc. However if you're getting one without a roof then those are the highest priorities anyway so the difference isn't as important. Also having an M4 without a roof could mean that you'd hear its exhaust sometimes! ughh
