After owning an M6/M6 GC ..what option is a must?
I've been in the market for a 2014-2016 and ready to pull the trigger.. but I wanted to ask the experts/experienced/enthusiasts on the forum...
What option is a must for you?? Competition Package? Executive Package? I'm leaning towards a competition package but my options are more limited. Just wanted to kindly ask your opinion and any leads? Also is CPO necessary?? Thanks again! Cheers |

I know I’d always be annoyed if I didn’t have the comp pack as I’d be thinking that the car isn’t the sharpest tool it could be.
The other option I think is quite important is the full leather as it replaces plastic on all of the dash surfaces and really improves the atmosphere quite dramatically. If you live in a hot climate then the executive pack gives you ventilated seats which was an important thing for me - I’m always hot when I’m driving and the sun is out |

On my third F06 now.
The first one my dealer lent me for a week and I fell in love with the car, it was a loaded car without com package. I then leased one with everything but B&O and CCB. My lease ended and as I look around the car market I could find anything that was a must have for me. So I just purchased a used and will keep it till the m8gc come out. The executive package is a must, and honestly I think you have to look real hard to find one without it, because I think most dealerships ordered the car with exec package. I also like the extended leather in interior colors other than black (when you can really tell the difference), but that's personal taste. I enjoy the competition package because I feel it adds a sharpness to the car that really seperates it from the f10 M5. But you can mod the car as well. https://www.bmwblog.com/2016/11/14/v...eleration-run/ - Nice little write up on the comp package. I do have B&O in the purchased car but was not really looking for it. The aftermarket has plenty to offer to get amazing sound. The lighting from the B&O does look nice at night. Parts are expensive, and CPO can save a ton of money. If I were keeping this car for a long time and not modding it I would definitely get CPO. Hope that helps. |

Comp Pack - check! Full leather - check! Quote:
I feel the same about the extended leather..especially with the two tone. Makes the interior stand out. I'm looking around and the ZCP is definitely the first thing i'm checking on my box. Thanks for your awesome feedback! I plan to own the car 2-3 years then move onto the next. Hoping depreciation doesn't kill me, or my wife will do the honor LOL! Looks like I'm targeting a 2015/2016 M6 GC w/ 15K-30K miles. Comp Pkg, Exec Pkg, and preferably the extended leather. Anything else is a bonus. Do you guys think low/mid $60k for a 2016 is realistic with the above?? Last edited by marqueex82; 08-24-2018 at 04:09 PM.. |

IMO, just ZCP. The details of ZCP changes have been laid out many times over this forum, but the one item I would add is that I think ZCP will also help resale. Since I live in the city, I need Driving Assistance package which gives you the surround cameras for parking in tight spaces and street parking.
The good news about the other options are the M6s were mostly all built with Driving Assistance, Executive Package and B&O. It's actually hard to find one without those packages. I would say the full leather is a nice option for the aesthetics, but IMO, it'll be wasted for a black interior. If you get full leather in any other color, the contrast is stunning. (BTW, "extended" is the base leather) Remember, the rare options are CCB, 6MT, individual, and night vision. Regarding pricing, low $60s for a 2016 is a stretch, high $60s sure, but low $60s is where 2015s are clearing at today. You'll have to wait to about this time in 2019 to get a 2016 in that price. As with CPO, it's a play on your ownership horizon and what you are willing to pay/deal with when things break. CPO will add a good $3k or so the price of the car.

Ohh actually that point about leather colour reminded me of something, if you have Silverstone, Sakhir or Aragon leather you get a contrasting strip of leather down the middle of the roof.
Weirdly you get a black leather strip on all of the individual colours unless you get the full leather coloured alcantara option which gives you the leather strip in the same colour as the alcantara. |

I tried hard to find the coloured strip but only found two pics with the same colour leather strip
http://www.eurocarnews.com/4/0/0/159...ry-detail.html https://www.bmw.co.nz/en_NZ/all-mode...15/design.html You can configure the car on the Canadian site still and pick the various leathers and get the contrasting strip though. Heres some porn showing the interior with the full individual interior |
