2022 Acura MDX

The prototype was unveiled a couple of months ago and they launched the production version today. Looks very impressive.

The removable middle section of the 2nd row is a great idea.

Love it! I had the first gen that I absolutely love (at the time) that had the terrible torque converter issue.

Really curious to see how it feels and what they have in store for the Type S.

Better than the current, but from the C-Pillar back its very chunky looking. A lot of CX-9 styling cues. Interior is much better though, huge improvement there. These will sell in droves.

I really like it (especially the Type-S that's to come). Perhaps the Q7 will have to be traded in once it comes out.

I agree that there are some CX-9 cues. I had to stare at this picture in particular for a while to see if the Acura marketing team used a CX-9 image by mistake in their launch press release.

Yes, it will definitely sell well.

It is at the top of my list to replace my wife's 2015 Highlander. Toyota's package of options is now forcing you to go to the Limited trim for stuff that was included with the lower trim. At this point, the MDX is only a few thousand dollars away from the Highlander Limited.

Great addition to the luxury SUV market. I think it will sell extremely well.

Could very well be a replacement for our current X5 when the lease is up. The old MDX was long in the tooth and my wife had an RDX that was too getting too small with 1 kid and another eventually on the way.

I hate the new trackpad UI for the infotainment, but maybe with Carplay/Android auto it's liveable. Trim and finish are certainly nicer than what you get in a base X5.

A good review of the 2022 MDX. I am glad Zack addressed the whole value proposition.

An X5/GLE are still the industry leaders and if buyers want value, the MDX is significantly less and offers an excellent experience. The MDX is definitely at the top of my list for the family car.

A comparable GV80 with three rows of seats is about as much as an X5. If I were to spend about $80K CAD, the X5 is an easy decision.

Need to replace the wife's SUV and considering the new MDX. Any idea how these are leasing?

I would check leasehackr, bit hard to know since they just recently arrived at dealers but I imagine discounts and incentives are few since these will likely be a hot seller for Acura.

I am not sure how the lease rates vary from one region to another but they are leasing here for 2.99% for 36 months. Looking through a couple of Acura forums, people are basically being quoted MSRP.

There may be some loyalty discounts for existing Acura owners. I would guess there will be more flexibility in the coming months.

Dealers are trying to get rid of the 2021 MDX inventory and blowing them out with over $10K incentives, so unlikely they will budge on price with the new 2022 for now.

LOL, for real!

I was always amazed how so many people can get 10% off MSRP before incentives on a new M340i. I would get laughed out the dealer here if I asked for 10% off on a factory order.

I know. Last three car purchases (one for us, two helping wife's family) the dealers barely budged at all. New, used, Honda, Audi, no matter, price is the fucking price or go fuck yourself.

Having contacts helps to some extent. I bought my parents a Ď21 Honda Pilot Touring two weeks ago, managed to get a decent amount off plus they had $4k incentive on the pilot (which they still do).

Out the door I paid just a hair under $54k cash.

That included an extended warranty, all weather mats and cargo liner as well as the roof rack cross bars. The dealer delivered it to my parents condo on a flat bed, swapped the plates and loaded their old SUV on the flat bed - nice and easy for my parents, just had to sign over he ownership on their old vehicle, which Iím sure is already sitting at a wreckers by now
