Above 335i is fine. All OEM and/or BMW performance parts.

Debadge is fine and the mods are done in a tasteful manner.

It's only on a "poser" level when you fake badge cars and pretend to be something it's not. Debadge doesn't say "M3".

While the "clean look" can be a bit overstated (some due it strictly to hide their model) it's still personal preference.

And car enthusiasts will know regardless to what your model says or doesn't say. The general public doesn't know or care.

New 5's are nice in person. Interior crushes the M3/M4 from a luxury standpoint as it should being a 5.

Not only does it look good, the new M550 is quite the performer as well. Wish BMW had just called it the 550 though. Enough with this M235/40, M550, M760 and X3M40 crap. Confuses the hell out of people.

Apparently the new gen with have the M340 finally added to the lineup as well

Keep the damn M badge on M cars please BMW. FFS.

I can remember a few years back, riding with my father, when we saw an old car with similar pink paint. I commented to my father that, although the then current owner might have purchased it used and couldn't afford to change up the color, somebody had to have purchased the car in that very color when it was new. My father dryly retorted that it would have been worse than that, since the color would have needed to be special ordered.

A guy in my neighborhood has a fake Lambo and has been trying to pass it off as the real deal... Tires are too narrow, ride height is wrong, the interior is from a Pontiac GTO (I'm assuming the entire car has Pontiac GTO chassis/engine, etc)...

Meanwhile, the same dude recently bought an f series 328i with black wheels, stripped the badge off the rear decklid and put an M3 badge on in its place... The car is nice, but definitely not an M.

lets be realistic. even BMW knows they watered down M and thats why they now have the CS, CSL, and GTS lines of the M car.

think of it like this:
Just numeric model (ie 330): for the everyday leasee that just wants a badge
M badged car with more than one number after (ie M340, M550): you want m styling on a more performance oriented car)
M3 (top of the 3er lineup now): want that S designated motor
M3CS: you want something more exclusive to separate yourself from every other M3 in Beverly Hills

Audi and Mercedes did this years ago. i cant believe you guys are surprised by this.

Audi has had the Sline for many years and AMG packages for mercs for a long time.

Bmw finally decided that the cars just below the M3/M5 etc could be sold with msport trim only and they are able to charge more. Since the take on msport models for these is greater than sportline, lux, etc.. they are maximizing profits this way.
