100%, one cannot not (I think I wrote it rightly haha) feel a bit better after hearing that...esp during Xmas time.

Your remark about the trumpet reminded me when I was a kid...for some reason, my classmates were idiots and didn't wanna do more work, so when they heard a music teacher was coming in, they thought if they intentionally failed the evaluation of where they were musically that they didn't have to take the class! Anyway, at the age of 7 or so I already knew that I was dealing w morons and paid them no heed. While everyone else was giving all the wrong answers to which note was higher, etc, I 'aced' it by trying me best. The teacher must've thought I was some savant compared to all those idiots lol and gave me my choice of instrument. I ended up playing 1st line trumpet. Shame I never continued after grade school and the guitar is the only instrument I know.

Anyway, this is my fave song from my fave band. They are unique to me as I like virtually all their songs and constantly discover a new favorite.

Great song you posted. Have not heard them before. That's one of the things I like about this thread is hearing bands and songs that I haven't heard before. Will definitely take a listen to their other songs.

Speaking about trumpet, I played in school as well and was first trumpet too. I also played in the morning when the school flag was raised and at the end of the day when the flag was taken down.

My mother bought me a used Bundy trumpet after I was playing for a while and she knew I was going to stick with it (before that I just used one from music class). I loved playing and cherished my Bundy and thought I'd play forever.

Had it for a few years and one day I left it in my school locker when I went home, like many other times, and that night my locker was broken into and the next day my trumpet was gone. I had planned to get another one but never did. After a while I forgot about it and just lost interest.

Tx, ya, CAS is somehow pretty special imho. The lead singer just knows how to make nice songs and proves that they don't have to be overly-complicated, just being melodic is key. Btw, listening to the voice, describe the singer's appearance.

Sad about your trumpet, what kinda young punk could do that? I now wonder if we lost out on another Miles Davis. Sliding Doors, man. I never had my own, in fact, we had to share our instrument w another student and everyone was 'envious' I got to share w my brother while they exchanged coodies w strangers haha.

Already read about Greg Gonzalez and his voice described as "androgynous." Thought he was female at first. Beautiful voice.

Here's an old favorite trumpet song of mine. First heard it when I was a kid and watched The Green Hornet TV series. I tried to play it but couldn't keep up. That man had skills.

Ya, his voice is beautiful. I don't think I thought about it but for sure lots of ppl thought he was some sultry female singer. Someone actually demanded a refund at one of their concerts hahah.

Ok, that trumpet was insane. I'm more into slow jazz though.

I posted that song before here when I was talking to somebody else about the trumpet a while back. Yeah, Al Hirt was a real hero of mine when I was a kid. Still is.

Christine McVie died today. These are a couple of classic Fleetwood Mac pieces from their Rumours album.
