I didn't see her fall but I guess that's possible. She seems to walk and run and jump like normal.

I’d give it a day or two. You’ll pick up if it’s really bothering her, at thirteen she’s settled in.

They’re weird animals.

Definitely weird, part of their charm.

It’s been 3 or 4 days she’s been like this.

If she doesn’t show improvement in a few more days I’m taken her in, after all she’s an old girl, anything can happen.

I’ll look in to getting gabapentin as mentioned above. See what my doc says.

Don't own a cat anymore but as Esteban knows about our friendly neighborhood cat, he keeps coming for food...lately after taking food from us, he's chewing on some of our plants out back and I think the plant is bitter tasted so everytime he chews and digests, he makes this gesture like he is going to throw up ..I get that they need some greens to cleanse but this is the first time I've seen that...Really odd..

Cats love to eat grass. Mine don’t get out so we keep some in the house. For eating, not smoking. Wrong kind of grass!

In my experience cats eat grass and the like because they have an upset tummy and want to throw up.

Please give Alfie a pet for me. Beautiful cat....

Unfortunately we had to recently say goodbye to one of our oldest cats 'Remus' the Seal Point Balinese due to cancer.

I kept telling my wife 'No more pets, we have too many and we're getting too old to look after so many".

Well, the other week a friend calls us and says a stray had crawled into his backyard and gave birth to a litter of 4 in his back garden. He couldn't catch the mother but he did manage to grab the kittens. The weakest one sadly passed away, his brother took one and the other two were going to go to the pound and he asked if we wanted to meet them to see if we might want one before they went. My wife said sure and he brought them over for us to meet. Well needless to say, they have both stayed and we have now adopted two new 4 month old kittens to join our clowder.

Meet Elizabeth (ragdoll cross we think) and Alex (a short haired domestic).

I remember you talking about your photo album before in this thread, and when I couldn't see your cats in your post above I went to your profile to see Remus. I also saw your two new ones (Elizabeth and Alex) there as well; very cute.

Its funny, when I make a post, I put the link to my photo album in my profile (like the forum thread rule recommend) and I can see the pictures fine on the thread when it posts, but for some reason, some people can see them and lots of others can't. Weird.

I use the paperclip icon in the "Go Advanced" section and grab pics off my desktop. So easy.

A while back they added the Attachment Manager to upload pics but I'm a creature of habit and stick with the paperclip icon.

Glad you asked because I'm happy to report she's doing better. She seems her old self and I've been watching closely. Was going to call the vet today if she didn't improve; good we don't have to do that.

New York Times has a cute article about the filmmaker Darren Aronofsky (Pi, Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan) casting a cat. "The director remains a dog person, but [the cat] impressed him. 'I would work with [the cat] in a second again over many human actors,' he said."

I find it interesting that we have a cat thread as well as a pet thread. It would seem that the cat owners on the forum are more passionate about their pets than the dog owners.

Growing up, my family always had a dog, and cats did not really register with me. It was not until I left home at age 18 that my parents added a cat.

I remained unimpressed by cats until my 40s, when my teenage daughter got a cat. When she left for college, the cat and I bonded, and I now consider myself a cat person. During the twenty years from 2004 to 2024 I had several livestock guardian dogs for my llama farm, but they were not as close as the cats.
