I came here for pics and found car porn.
Beautifully modded car, Flo1989. Where did you procure your rear decklid spoiler from? And it looks like a Vorsteiner style? It seems the fitment is great. I'm on my second V style from two different online vendors and not crazy thrilled with the quality & fitment. I'm still looking for the right one. |

Here's the direct link to the one I ordered: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Fits-11-17-...item2a9de66844 It's really a hit or miss with these types of things. Fitment was probably 9/10. The CF weave is decent. Maybe 8/10. But this is me comparing it my diffuser which definitely cost a looot more, so I'd expect slight differences in quality. I'm decent with a DA polisher so I was able to "jewel up" the spoiler to a very acceptable finish. At it's price point, you cant go wrong giving it a shot. And if you aren't pleased with the quality, they have a 30 day return policy. |

AH - FINALLY! 4 1/2 months later and my Meisterschaft mid section has finally arrived! Talk about testing ones patience.. I think I mentioned it before but I'm going with a hybrid set up...not sure if it's actually been done before either, but I have high hopes for the outcome.
VRSF catless DP's > Meisterschaft mid pipe/velocity box > Megan Racing Axle Back The mid section gets installed next week...I should have some sound clips for those interested. Well packaged by GT Haus btw...also a nice touch with the disposable mask. Thanks to Mike GTHAUS & Chris vividracing for fulfilling my order. |

I am anxious to see how the center section changes the exhaust. I am about to get the Megan mufflers and VRSF DP's as well. Worried about drone at all? How is your Ebay deck spoiler holding up?

The trunk spoiler is good - no issues to speak of. I don’t foresee any either. |

New M6 Owner
Great thread. I just picked up an M6 GC myself - and looking to do similar mods.
Flo1989 - Awesome build.. looks great! I'm going for a very similar build. One question on the Megan Axleback exhaust, is it required to be welded or can it be clamped on do you know? I had Megan exhausts on both my E46 and E92 M3s, and loved them, they sound great. Thanks for the info!

In theory you could probably clamp the axle back on, but you're going to have to cut the factory pipes to put them on at which point I found it best to weld it on. The Megan system is really a muffler back oppose to axle back, as you can see from the photo below. |

Impressions of the added mid-pipe? I love it. My intent was to create a higher pitched tone and it does just that. Anything over 4k RPM and she screams. Revving video's sound good, but we all know that cars sound different until WOT which I why I still plan to get that footage posted for anyone interested. You can kind of hear it at the end of the video if you listen closely, but this was recorded inside the car from an iPhone so it doesn't do it much justice. For reference, my buddy with a e63s who I run with all the time thought I switched to a whole new exhaust lol. Last edited by Flo1989; 11-02-2020 at 02:09 PM.. |

I was finally able to get a break in our weather to head out and get my Project Gamma Charge Coolers installed. My shop said fitment was perfect and that they had no issues with the install...Always great to hear when dealing with after market parts.
Initial impressions are that the car feels more eager...more willing to "get up and go". My tuner, Alex from Mission Performance, said that it will take a couple days of driving for the ECU to fully adapt to the increase in air flow and that the ECU can adjust up to 20%. I do plan to add WMI this summer to get the most out of my current set up. Also cool to know that I have the first BMW Blue set done by PG. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] |

Sweet. Looks great man!
I'm planing on getting those sometime soon as well, good to see that the fitment is spot on. Also, I've seen a few pics of all the other brands and it seems like one of the coolers sits super close to the front of the engine bay, is that the case with these ones? |

So the one cooler being closer to the front bumper is actually the same as the stock coolers. You just may not notice it as much because they’re smaller and the colors kind of blend in with the rest of the engine bay. But if you’re facing the front of the car, the cooler to the left is closer to the bumper. Just done by design from BMW. |

One common issue I've seen M5/M6's was that the driver seat side bolster would start to wear off, including mine. I've had decent luck in the past with cleaning and conditioning it with SwissVax's kit, but after a few weeks the scuffed leather look would return. Extremely annoying for me as the rest of my interior is pristine. So incomes Colourlocks dye solution. I cleaned the seat up really well prior to applying the dye and a leather conditioner as a top layer to kind of "lock in" the paint. After speaking with the crew over at colourlock, we decided to tone my dye down to a more dull, matte finish as the last thing I wanted was a high spot that stood out from the rest of the seat. Results seem to be okay...I'm more so waiting to see how it looks in a month or so, but I have high hopes that it will last.

That looks great, can you tells us how long it took and how many applications and if it affected the contrast stitching? I hope it lasts. I have the platinum individual leather and have been entraining the idea of re dying but no one guaranteed the sticking and even replacing the leather cover on the seat by BMW but wanted $4K

I may have gone a bit overkill but I bought their entire kit including the colour matched dye. First point - I had various blemishes across the interior (so much leather!) and the colourlock system was amazing at covering up marks and scratches - for example my glovebox had some nasty nail scratches: Before After It made a huge diff IMO and has held up really well as these are typically non-wear areas. I went round the entire leather interior with this as there were numerous such scratches across the acres of leather. I found that some leather (e.g. door cards) was a different material to the leather on the seats, and there was a bit of a process applying the colourlock chemicals - I had to change up my technique a bit. However, the results were still great - really happy with them. Biggest change was the bolster: Before After From this angle and about a foot away - it looked immaculate. However up close, the stitching did get dyed (I have white contrasting stitching on black leather). Unfortunately there is no way round this, tbf the stitching was gone before I did the colourlock treatment anyway, I just tried to be careful when applying but it's inevitable it'll get some dye on it. It really didn't stand out to me though and it looked a huge improvement from the eyesore before...however...6 months later and it's back to how it was I did follow all the steps including adding their protective top coat - I used this excellent video as a guide (watch it all the way through as the order of application can be confusing). I'm waiting for a free weekend to tackle this again as my whole interior is due a full detail. I'll give the process another go and see how we do, though I may be reaching out to colourlock for further advice. It may just be an annual "maintenance" thing I have to do vs getting a professional - more permanent - repair. |
