I tend to agree with most everyone here the M6 GC is > the MB...BUT, it pains me to admit this, the Audi S7/RS7 looks better than both.

Not to mention the wages of course, average income in us is twice as Spain's. Currency is higher-valued here too, so multiply those prices x1'25 to get the equivalent price and lets not talk about oil... Average price in us is... How much? 4$pg? in spain (and it is one of the cheapest in europe in terms of oil) it's 1,38 per litre the cheapest oil, like 5,21 per gallon. Euros, that is. Not complaining, just saying that neither you should ;-) |

I don't know if any of you have seen a CLS amg on the street, but when you do, thing looks amazing. The rear seats in the CLS are also better IMO

You sure it's a M6 and not a 6 Series GC?

sorry bmw fanboys. MB wins hands down on the design. lines on the MB flows very well and very modern, GC has no flowing lines and looks dated already due to the very similar lines from early 90s BMWs.

^ I think RS7 will be interesting. In its favour it will have a mean front end, nice interior and spec will be great. RS6 is claiming 0-100kph in 3.9 secs! Against it though is that ugly roofline/rear end.

I see the first post has been updated with 0-60 times.
BMW claiming 4.1 and Mercedes claiming 4.4, car manufacturers can claim whatever they want, BMW used to claim high but now it seems they are claiming more accurate numbers (like the X3 35i at 5.5 and the 335 xdrive at 4.7). a couple car magazines have already tested the CLS63 at 3.8, while the M5 has been tested anywhere from 3.7-4.1 also about a year after the M6 GC actually goes on sale, the CLS63 will have AWD (which they stated will only add 112 pounds) and a power boost (550 hp for base and 575 for performance package) according to recent articles. Mercedes is expecting the new E63 and CLS63 to have 3.4 second 0-60 times. |

right now i have a battle inside myself: on the one hand my love to the rear wheel drive on the other, the astonishment on those numbers. Would I buy a AWD MB if it means those numbers? |

I've read all the posts and have determined..... this thread can go on forever! Individual tastes and brand loyalties are what makes us who we are and what we drive. I must admit, our 650i X-Drive Coupe is our first BMW. At the price levels required for these outrageous rides.... I do not see $5,000 or even $20,000 being a deciding factor. Nor do I see gas milage coming into the equasions. Most owners of both brands eventually go to the tuner for even more power, more sound, unique wheels etc...etc. making the ride more to their own tastes.
And guess what........... a few months after these cars go into production, the companies are already changing and improving on their technologies. I continually hear the sad stories from the guys that want the 1st model that hits the dealership........ only to find out 3 months later...newer technologies and more hp are standard fare. I have never owned a 4 door........... BUT I do like the GC lines overall. These vehicles are a stunning example of what is available....(FOR NOW !!!) |

Do you see what these beasts cost in Austrailia or Singapore?? Yet they buy them anyway ! If you have money...."crazy" is not a word in your vocabulary. Hey, if you're still young enough, you can have kids and they'll have lots of room in the back seat. If you want to talk "crazy".... how can you use 600hp or so, in NYC ?? |
