I ate very little red meat for about 6 years during my peak years - Red meat takes far too long to digest for runners, but they do need protein.
Mostly chicken and seafood, plus as much Pasta/Pizza/Potatoes as I could stomach in significant quantities. About 7 meals a day during season. One of the best things about burning 9k a day.....carb loading the day before a meet I'd eat between a dozen and 18 Krispey Kreme donuts in one sitting on a Friday afternoon 2% - 3% body fat, could run a 4 flat mile, with a 40" vert |
