He didn't say he hate M6... He just want to get rid of his M6 to buy S550
Different cars for different people; however I don't understand how a person can be interested in two different cars and cross shop one over another one. M6 is a truth sport car while S550 is no where close to M6 and is a luxury car. Much bigger, heavier and less power and no sport car at all. Even S63 AMG with that amazing exhaust sound is not considered a truth sport car. You need to see the car in person to get my point

It is possible to get a deal on the S550 coupe but quite difficult to do so on the S63s. I cannot share anything yet but from speaking to three dealers they seem willing to negotiate. AMG allocations seem limited and they will do very little.

Almost sounds like you two used to know each other and it did not end well - rather badly acutally. Just kidding. Please don't take that seriously - feeble attempt at humor.
Naw - he just likes riding around in his living room chair rather than driving. No harm in that. Every now and then that sounds like a good idea to me too. I can't remember that far back but I am sure there must have been a time or two when I felt that way. Quote:
Of course, that is just my feeble attempt at making some humor out of my impression of the last (and only) MB I had (and ever will have) which may not have any basis in reality. Nope, actually they are both good cars and very well made. I just think they are intended for different groups - one is more for people who like to drive (more connection to the car and to the road) and the other is more for the people who like to ride (more isolation from the road). Nothing wrong with either. Absolutely nothing at all. |

This is called bimmerpost. Not an open forum about cars. The dude is entitled to his opinion on the car- but don't come to an m6 forum to trash it. It's called having respect for fellow members who actually appreciate what we have.

But yes he is young enough to get upset if anybody wants to trash his car...

I think you guys lost me when this shifted to Toyota and a Yaris - whatever that is. I used to hop up some Supras but that's been a while, and they were customer cars, not mine. Actually, I'm not sure I want to get this part; although whatever old SugarSkulls wants to drive is fine with me. Anybody who can drive a recent M6 has good enough taste in cars for me - even if "my other car is a Yugo".

Then a Random dude thought I was "insecure" because I told the guy who wanted to dump the m6 asap to stop being negative here. My yaris is my beater car. I drive it when I want to be invisible And I'm 26. So...hope this clears up some confusion? Btw I absolutely appreciate your taste in bimmer cars as well

Well let's not get hasty !!!
My love is devided now between BMW M cars and Porsche GT cars. My DD for 6'years was two different 997 GT3's and I raced my 996 RSR (hence the handle) have a GT3 RS and a 991 GT3 RS on order. The 997GT2 I just picked up is a freak. Pretty much the polar opposite of the front engine M6 on a 800 pound diet. Neither car is/would be for the squeamish or non track oriented driver. Too may things that can go wrong a moment ago...oops! Too late for the correction that should have been anticipated. My intro to M cars was way too delayed but am so happy to now have had the opportunity to now enjoy the best of two factories. There will always be an M and a GT in my herd. (When I want that big old couch of a ride and I think that I want a Merc; I want one of you to slap me silly )

My '66 mini is still my favorite ride and gets me more smiles per mile than any other one. Have a '10 Cali that I have to dump...impulse buy and what a POS. F430 poss replacement. If I can find a MT. And not lose a nut in the deal. Grab a MT Porsche GT while the prices are still not too crazy. PDK is now the norm. GT4 looks interesting for a track day weapon. M6 is my DD and it feels like a space ship fighter. Just loving the paddles and the autoblip!! If it was a lighter car; I woulda got the MT but that's a lot of shifting. The DCT loves being at 5k and up. I keep everything set in sport plus and 3 bars and it's just my style of harshness and seat of the pants feel for the road. Bumper to bumper gets efficient mode all the way around. That's how I have the M1 and M2 buttons spec'd. I'm rambling......sorry...
