It is the one from this thread. Mine did not go on as easily as his did apparently, as i needed longer bolts than stock, and ended up having to use screws into the nose as well to secure it properly. It looks great though.

Have not had the opportunity to drive mine in over a month. Moved to a new house and still need to make room in the garage for her. Also had twins which leaves little or no time to do anything. This is the last photo of her after a nice bath with some friends.

I have to do the same on the lateral aspect of the driver’s bolster too. I just have to wait till it warms up a bit.

Covid DIY projects
Nowhere to go, so I am doing some car projects. Took off my front bumper, took everything off and had it painted. Almost every body shop these days has trouble laying down flat clear coats. So I sanded my brand new paint job with 1500 and 2000 grit and polished it. Used my Porter Cable DA buffer with a 3.5" orange foam pad with Meguire's M105 and then a white foam pad with M205. The first pic is the end result. Sanding and polishing was maybe a 5 hour job.
While it was being painted I polished my fog lights, which had become pitted from small gravel strikes. I wet sanded with 400, 600, 800, 1200, 1500, 2000, 2500 and 3000 grit then buffed the same way as the bumper. Then I put on clear bra so they do not get pitted again. Sounds like a lot of work, but it was only 2 hours total. The second pic is the end result. Finally, I bought some GTechniq C4 trim restorer and, among other places, used it on the plastic grills around the fog lights and the lower center grill. This stuff is supposed to last for years - it's expensive. The third pic shows they look new and not that grayish color they turn. Last edited by Opie55; 03-23-2020 at 01:24 AM.. |

Almost feel embarrassed to post after seeing what Opie55 did but just happy to have had a nice day to get all the winter “crud” off and give it a good clean inside and out.

Just run of the mill Simoniz car shampoo with carnauba wax. Clayed with a Farecla G3 mitt. Finished of with Mer polish.
So frustrated that I can’t take it on a good run due to current restrictions that I gave it another coat of Mer this morning. Better than watching all these stay at home exercises on Youtube! |

Gave her a ‘Whore Bath’
Gave her a ‘Whore Bath’ today - going over everything with Meguire’s Ultimate Quick Detailer and a micro fiber cloth. I do this often, when she doesn’t need a full wash. Btw - I discovered that the product ‘Invisible Glass’ is basically a miracle. I could never get the damned windows clean and streak free until I found this.

Finally got rid of those ugly chrome grilles and replaced with some much better looking black ones. Also blacked out the emblems and removed the front plate holder. That left some holes, but they're much less noticeable than the frame.
Had a question for everyone too - which spoiler do you prefer, this one or this one? |
