Winds are finally gone, now we're looking at some 90s next week. Too soon for that kind of heat.

Well, the generator is ready to go...
Great timing, this morning I just removed my winter tires and fitted the replacement for the Bridgestone Alexa RTF (piece de caca) with Pirelli P Zero AS plus 3. They probably better than the 5 years old winter one. |

We have a late night tornado threat. Might have to stay up. Typical crazy spring weather in IL. Almost hit 80F today and next week we have forecasts of daytime highs in the 20s and lows in the teens. And of course, as always, the wind for which this state is well known.

Warm temps last couple of days. Rain and storms off and on thru the week with falling temps with highs into the 40's and lows in the 20's. Even a mention of snow early next week.
I do rather enjoy DST, don't mind the darker mornings as compared to longer evening light. Not a morning person so a bit darker in the morning doesn't bother me. Either way, wish they would end the nonsense of DST, hate having to turn clocks back and forth.

The last of our snow melted today, with highs hitting the upper 70's F. I almost turned on the central AC this afternoon, when the inside temperature hit 26.2 C. (My indoor thermometer only reads metric.)
From the "it's waaaaay to early for this crap" department, my DW has already had to catch and release TWO ladybugs from inside the house today! There was a bumper crop of them up and down the east coast last May, and it looks like this year will be even worse with them already starting to show up before the last of the snow was melted.....

A chilly morning starting the day, then sun all day mixed with some cloud and a high of 12C later, I'll take it to rain any day.

It actually hit 80 F here yesterday, and our central AC was on for the first time in 2026.
Lots of rain overnight, with temps hanging in the 60's F. The wind just kicked up, and I feel a cold breeze coming in through the open window. Guess the cold front is passing, and we'll be back to winter by evening.....

SoCal's in for a heatwave over the next couple weeks. Temps will be 20-30 degrees above normal for this time of year. Looking at upper 90s coming.

After a 50 degree swing on high/low temps this Saturday, a 30 degrees high with snow on Sunday. Then back into the 80’s by the end of the week.

Read today on the news that it could be the hottest March in SoCal since 1988.
"The hottest stretch is expected Tuesday through Thursday, when temperatures in some areas could climb 25 to 35 degrees above normal, the weather service said. Forecast graphics also warn that parts of Southern California could experience their hottest March conditions since 1988." Forecasted 100°F next Friday. https://ktla.com/weather/extremely-r...nia-next-week/ Last edited by Esteban; 03-14-2026 at 12:43 AM.. |

Staying home today as we are having a blizzard, not the frozen tasty treat either. So far maybe around a foot of snow, with more on the way. I'm hoping for a snow day tomorrow.
Issued By LaCrosse - WI, US, National Weather Service Affected Area Portions of southeast Minnesota and central, north central, and west central Wisconsin Description ...BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM CDT MONDAY... WHAT...Blizzard conditions. Additional snow accumulations between 4 and 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph. WHERE...Portions of southeast Minnesota and central, north central, and west central Wisconsin. WHEN...Until 7 AM CDT Monday. IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute. Strong winds could cause tree damage. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle. In Minnesota, visit 511mn.org for road conditions. In Wisconsin, visit 511wi.gov for road conditions. More Information ...BLIZZARD CONDITIONS WITH ADDITIONAL SNOW MOVING IN THIS AFTERNOON... The first round of this winter storm will continue to exit east into eastern WI which will leave a brief lull across the area for the early afternoon. During this period, winds will begin to increase with wind gusts of 40 to 55 mph by the early evening. This will result in blizzard conditions where a Blizzard Warning is in effect. Dangerous travel conditions are expected during this period, particularly north of Interstate 90 where already fallen snowfall totals of 12 to 24 inches will see significant drifting with the increasing winds. A secondary round of accumulating snow will move into the region late this afternoon and into the morning hours on Monday with highest additional totals favored in west-central and southwest Wisconsin with snow exiting the region by noon on Monday. |

You guys got it worse in Wisconsin iX nOOky I only got about 7" and was out driving around today and it wasn't that bad. (Central Minnesota) But I can hear the wind outside. like 50MPH gusts and sounds like my house is going to fall over. Then moving on to mid 50's in two days. Gotta love the Spring weather up north. Seems like this happens every year.
