Apparently you missed the words “most” and “a lot”. Both entirely accurate. The “a lot” refers to the snarky comments directed at the OP for asking his questions. And it happens a lot on this forum when it comes to how BMWAG badges their cars and what those badges may or may not mean. Doesn’t make it the M version of anything. It’s not even related to the M2, totally different platforms and driveline configuration.

Why does M Performance roll up into M lol? Those cars have nothing to do with M Gmbh as they state lol... the B58 is not an M motor in any way... it sits in a base X7 and base X5... that's a really strong marketing graphic right there... also what's the difference between an X3 w m sport pack / brakes and an X3 M50 lol or an M340i and a 330i?
