Hi Danny - have you had your handles replaced yet and if so did that fix your issue?
I have the exact same symptoms as had with your comfort access. Not always but sometimes the door will unlock automatically when I am near the vehicle. Constant clicking sound after driving the car and attempting to lock with the comfort access feature. Comfort access works intermittently but mostly doesn't work. I assume because of these issues I get the Battery Message as well when parked for several hours. If you haven't received your handles, please update when you do. Also, could you let us know what you paid as I am pretty confident that a new drivers door handle is in my future for my 2013 F13 Coupe (640i US Version). |

@golf4dj - got danger issues and symptoms in mine. Passenger side and boot work perfectly for comfort access. Drivers side is full auto unlock (not as intended) as soon as I walk near the car, rear passenger door locks and unlocks (although quite often unlocks as soon a it's locked) drivers door doesn't luck but will unlock (if it's not already unlocked from proximity). I have an inflammation that party of my problem is from the antenna on the drivers door under the sill. Reason for this is the royal pain I had cleaning out the washer bottle that was full of gunk. The was a twisted pair cable that went underneath the washer bottle into the sill that may have got stretched and was the start of all problems I have with comfort access and battery drain. Could be coincidence but will hopefully get a chance at the weekend (if dry) to test wiring under the sill and possibly switch passenger side antenna with drivers side.
Anyone who can help me interpret the wiring diagram for comfort access as whether or had a permanent power and signal cable? I'm assuming ground is direct to the cars chassis. |

Not yet, although I'm not getting the battery discharge error anymore. Door handle doesn't seem to be auto unlocking when I approach drivers side, I'm assuming what ever the problem in terms of loose wire had disconnected and not causing a problem.
I'm left with all doors unlocking with comfort access but drivers door not locking. So either door handle it antenna. My first port of call is the antenna just because of the fun I had getting the washer bottle out. With practically everything cancelled now at the weekend I might get a chance to look at the problem. |

If you replace the battery with like kind/type/AH ratings…then all you need to do is REGISTER the battery replacement. This will give the IBS (intelligent battery sensor) and the charging management system a new baseline in how to recharge the battery. If you change the battery type/kind/AH ratings…then you will need to CODE the battery for the new changes…then the changes have been made (coded)…then you REGISTER the new battery.
