Sorry about that! Yep, that's the same exhaust that you pointed me too. I didn't physically pick up the rest of the exhaust, will do it soon once I am in the area. The same day when the mufflers arrives, got contacted by a local guy here in PHX who offered his mufflers Last edited by iamvanja; 10-13-2019 at 03:32 PM.. |

OEM stuff seems pretty trivial to install, according to the videos I saw online. Might go that route myself. Hate to be dealing with the paint shop though and adding that to the expense. |

[QUOTE=iamvanja;25343750]Looking good, at least from it can be seen in the pic!

But I'm happy with it ..I'll try to post another pic as |

Yeah, I think I will do gloss black to match the rear spoiler and kidney grills. One piece in gloss black is practically impossible to find!

Oh no! Do you have any other mods?
How about once it is warmed up, is it still droning? It's interesting that it is droning in sport mode... less. |

I think it's less because of the gear ratio maybe ? But I do have both flaps opened....I'm going to close the driver's side and see if that helps

And actually I think it's less once I got going ..but still there especially when cruising .. I'm Going to take the car back out again and see .. I did notice that when cruising in comfort mode ..the done is the heaviest at 1500 rpm... On sport mode the cruising rpm stays hovering around 2000.. so no drone .. sounds good when stepped on .. .. I don't have a problem driving all the time in sport but when wifey drives it and she drives in comfort..my phone is going to start ringing with complaints wondering y the car is loud ... I still haven't closed the driver's side flap .. I'm wondering if that would help the drone on comfort mode?

Hey few questions.. if I cut the zip ties from keeping my flaps open would they stay shut , since I believe I don't have vacuum line connected. because my car is a 640 not 650 ..and would that create a issue having then closed ? Also what size muffler tip is bolt on for the m6 mufflers ? 2.75 or 3inch ? Would like to grab a set were I can just bolt on

640s don't have that vacuum thingie so they will stay shut. I don't see how would that create any problems as they are shut in comfort on 650 and M6. You should be able to cut those zip ties yourself.
Once I install this setup (STILL dragging my feet on the lower bumper setup), I will probably install a mechanism to electronically open and close the valves, as I don't think I will be able to live with droning on a daily basis. Bolt on? I will measure mine once I get home. |

Bigjule111 Spoke to the shop today about my install. The guy said he is pretty sure there will be some tubing for the M6 muffler install and is not 100% bolt on. Not sure if trying to upsell me or not, but got me thinking - if that is really the case, could droning be coming from that in your case?

The only tubing is the piece that connects the m6 muffler to the rest of the 640 exhaust. The exhaust pipe from the m6 mufflers is alot larger than the 640 tubing .. other than that. That was it ..used same hangers and all .. charged 130 for install.. but that may be the reason y we non m6 guys mite b getting some droning ..simply because are exhaust are smaller circumference wise ...and possibly getting back pressure. Who knows lol ..I haven't closed the flaps yet to see if that helps

Update on the droning .. I cut the zip tie on the one side and most definitely makes a huge difference.. I'm only getting the droning coming out of the one muffler now .. so I think if I choose to cut the other tie then that would take the droning completely away .. but im not going to do that .. it's minimal and I like the lil sound I have left .. so my advice would be to go ahead with the mufflers ..u won't b disappointed 👍

So I sent Benny to the operation. He was scared and I wasn't even able to hold his hand.... but he survived it and is healing now.
Pics also show the hilarious look with the new lower bumper and the old dual tips 😂 You will also notice the middle piece is missing. I guess 650i like Bigjule111 come with that piece? The second smaller piece by the part number from here that I got was a piece that I already have and it goes under (behind?) the lower bumper. My body shop was amazing and they worked with the BMW so they ordered something, but nobody is actually sure if that is the piece.... |

That middle piece is actually the diffuser u have to get . U can get the 40$ plastic part that came with the m6 convertible..that will cover that .. the GC came stock with the carbon fiber one .. I purchased the upgraded m performance diffuser with the 3 fin.. that's a option on the gc but don't believe it comes stock... Looks good bro 👍👍👍 mine is a 640 by the way
