A sales guy came by, poked his head in and asked if I needed help or had questions on the car. I said "yeah, let me run home and find $130k under mattress so I can buy this". He laughed. He knew the car was for the few... Lord and behold in 2017, I was sitting in my very own, gently used, unmolested lease returned '14 GC ZCP with an Akrapovic and $10k of dealer add-ons, and I've been in the honeymoon period ever since.

Weird, my early build 2014 M6GC isn't worth 20 something.

Decent M8s will be in the 30s. High mile ones will be in 20s. The 6 is WAY prettier than the 8 and will age better. So if anything, the 8 will depreciate a little more than the 6. That said, 2013 M6s are in the 30s all day long...some in the 20s depending on mileage. 2016s are in the 40s!

Does the M8GC look like a penis to you? Serious question

Hmmm...no comment in regards to resembling male anatomy...but I do know that (to me) the rear end of the new 8 series is gawd-awful UGGGLLY. I just see no redeeming quality that is likable in its design. I don't get the duck-bill trunk spoiler, the humpy/bumpy rear end contours, the rear reflectors and the contours around their location, and the huge rear license plate area that creates a shelf big enough to sit on or serve beverages off of if you're tailgating.
I don't know where BMW designers are trying to take us...but with every new rendering...it makes me NOT want to go there. The new 2020 X6's rear end is just as bad...the first time I saw it...it reminded me of rolls of neck-fat.

Agree that the rear end on the 8 is just abysmal. The proportions are completely wrong. At least with the X6, the proportions are symmetrical. If the 8 does look like a phallic symbol, you have one ugly looking phallic symbol.

If you're a girl (and somewhat attractive), dump whoever you're with and come over to NZ. I've got something to show you

I was stoked to see the concept M8, and thought that would be a winner. But BMW is unfortunately losing the plot w everything imo. Cars are getting uglier, and i'm pretty sure the new M3/4 will have that bow tie grill design which is going to finally put me off the brand.

God damn the M8GC looks atrociously bad. Especially the rear end, the lines and proportions are completely off. Nothing like the sleek and elegant lines of the M6GC. The M8 Coupe on the other hand does look quite aggressive.

Last summer, I saw the M8 coupe, and M850GC, coupe and vert in person. The 8 series definitely looks better as a coupe than a sedan, exactly opposite of the F gen 6er

Not so long ago, I took the M8 Cabrio and drove about a week. This is no longer an "M" car - it's just a very comfortable and damn fast car. Philosophy M simply does not work here. You no longer have tension, your fingers on your hands no longer sweat, lack of a sense of speed and passion. Plus, I find this car ugly. The M6 looks elegant. A form that never grow old. See for yourself
