I’m on the big Tesla forum. There is an easy way to tell who is a car enthusiast versus who just is a Tesla/tech fan.
Those that have been around the block will only call a BMW the M3. The way it should be. It’s the musky fanboys that mostly call the model 3 a M3. |

And actually pretty darn nice first kid BMW at that. Only 1 gen behind spose it may be a 428i. Which is not bad at all. It would actually be a decent looking car without the fake additions. The ///Ebay M mirrors look so out of place without the proper M4 body.

or those who pay extra and order their new BMW with the M Sport purely because of the M Sport bodykit used the factory? I ordered mine like that and opted for the M Sport adaptive suspension delete.(so it had the regular standard suspension) ![]() I had a 328i convertible a long time ago. A few months after taking delivery, I ordered all the BMW M3 bumpers and side skirt parts from the BMW dealer. Not because I wanted a M3 convertible, but because I preferred that more aggressive styling. |

If you didn't know any better, you could assume that this was an Audi from the rear.

On my M5 I switched from the chrome M5 badge to the black badge, but I have never put an M badge on a non M car. Of course there is the very valid point that I have never owned a non M car before my M850i. I have often wondered what people are thinking when they do this.

first thing I do whenever I buy a new car is to insert a small piece of black plastic(credit card size) between the windshield and the VIN plate. I'm probably paranoid, but I really don't want my VIN displayed in the open like that. Yes, I realize someone can simply unscrew the rear license plate and see the VIN sticker back there... but like I said, I'm paranoid and/or OCD... so the top of the screws are filed off to a flat smooth top with a Dremel after I install the license plate. (which mean removing the license plate takes a while.
