I'm two episodes into Peaky Blinders. It seems pretty solid so far, but before I invest in 6 or 7 seasons, any suggestions if I should continue it?

And just for a recommendation of an oldie but goodie that I haven't seen mentioned in the thread:

Deadwood.

Of all the HBO shows, I think it had the best character development and equaled the Sopranos in making you relate to bad people. I liked that they tied up all the lose ends with a movie a couple years after HBO and the creators had a falling out.

I'm three episodes into 1923 and I'm enjoying the storyline so far. Developing characters is ongoing. Episode three was the best yet.

I politely disagree. It definitely fell flat, but then I felt like it picked up again. Just one dude's opinion though.

My brother and a good friend said the same thing. I get it. It's not for everybody. I was a big fan of Boardwalk Empire too, and not a lot of folks I suggested that to liked it either.

+1. I couldn't get into Peaky Blinders or Boardwalk Empire. Period pieces are harder for me to get into for some reason. I know people love both shows but they're not for me.

we stalled out at episode 5...it's just sitting there in our "continue watching" queue...

time-travel and inter-dimensional stuff is just so hard to do well on film. i feel like many directors use it to intentionally try to confuse viewers because they dont really have a compelling story or characters.

Wait, 1899 got cancelled? Tx for telling me so I don't have to trudge along and finish it.

That's exactly where we left off too. Agreed on your comment. They have to be careful not to lose the viewer and I couldn't care anymore haha.

Super odd show, I made it through it and was hoping there would have been a season 2. It gets a lot better at the very end and makes total sense. At least watch the ending, it basically can be the ending with out the need of a season 2.

We watched Mammals on Amazon Prime over the weekend. I had pretty low expectations going in but actually thought it was pretty good.

Finished up SAS Rogue Hero's last night. It was entertaining and from what I've read they based it on the events that took place historically. It's clearly left open for a second season which I'd certainly watch.

Started Jack Ryan, 3 episodes in and I'm enjoying it as is my wife. A good spy story with enough action to keep it moving along.

Was this already posted? I'm not a big gamer but I've played a few, and "The Last of Us" is one of my all time favorites. Very excited about this show adaptation...
