Dealer dropped it off to me today after a ton of work. Front seat frames replaced and a leak fixed. I can’t believe everything that went into what started as a lower timing cover leak repair! Engine out of the car, new head gaskets, new timing chain, new injectors, the whole deal! Very thankful for CPO and that “$0” right now. Hopefully it’s trouble-free for a while! |

I just posted a new thread about my whole windshield having speckles all over it, especially visible in the sun. I cannot feel any pits, inside or outside, not even with my fingernail, and they cannot be removed even with a specialized glass cleaner.
I have no idea what they are. |

Whoa. Can you give some insight on this?
1. How's your experience with the wireless? Seen some people say wireless is crap on other threads. 2. How easy is the process? Just about every video or instruction I see is for 3/5 series. The trim on the 6 looks quite a bit different, is the removal/access/installation easy? Is there space in the 6 for the MMI unit underneath the screen, or is it one of the models where you have to remove the glove box? 3. How's the compatibility with the HUD and steering wheel controls? I know it wouldn't' display routes, but does it display everything else (speed, speed limit, music playlist)? Do the steering wheel buttons work to control music played through carplay? Thanks! |

As far as functionality it's awesome. Wireless works extremely fast everyone I enter car and start it screen automatically switches to CarPlay. When in reverse switches to camera and then back to CarPlay when camera closes. Sound is great just don't set aux volume above 8. Also use your EQ to adjust sound. Very easy to switch back and forth between CarPlay and Idrive. Just press and hold menu button. Only annoyance was on calls was getting and echo when using CarPlay on Iohone 11 pro. What i did was allow phone to connect to idrive via Bluetooth phone only no music and then calls worked better when I switched back to CarPlay. Really is a game changer and makes car feel like it has latest and greatest tech. And didn't know it came with screen mirroring which was a bonus so can watch YouTube etc right on idrive screen. HUD still works for speed info just not CarPlay info so track info etc, but the info looksso much better on main screen in Apple layout don't mind not having it in HUD. Plus if you want to use Nav in hud just hold menu button and go back to bmw navigation. Takes 2 seconds. And yes steering wheel controls work and scroll knob even controls CarPlay pointer which is really easy sometimes instead of idrive knob. |
