I would try to use the easiest method first (power to the jump start terminals)…then move on to more difficult method.

Thank you for your help but I’m afraid that I have inadvertently complicated things. When I removed the battery for charging I separated the two parts connected to the positive terminal. I am now considering if I could enter the boot through what would be the ski hatch. I have tried all the usual routes but even connecting the jump terminals doesn’t complete the circuit for the boot motor release.

Hopefully you can reach the emergency release in the trunk. It’s located on the section where the pull down handles are…and the handle should “glow in the dark”…so shine a flashlight/torch into the trunk to help find it. Good luck.

Thank you again for your reply. I have one other possible solution. However I think it is tricky. The fuse box, behind the glove box, I believe has a connection that I can try putting 12v on with the chassis connected to earth. I can’t get to it currently as the car is outside and it is snowing! I’ll let you know how I get on. Cheers 🤞🏻

Finally I managed to get the boot open by finding pin12 on a slide out connection box attached to the fuse box under the glovebox. Once put 12v on that pin with a good Earth too the boot motor popped the boot lid open.
If anyone has this issue I can help but it is involved and requires the removal of the glove box. |
