So I'm into the rum.....we had a saying, I'd rather my sister was a whore than my brother in-law a traffic man.

I used to run radar but mostly gave out warnings/cautions....unless it was a real high-miler.

That's a hilarious saying.

The speed limit here is 45 MPH, so I'm looking for 60+ MPH down this long stretch. I'm also in plain sight, giving people plenty of time to slow down, so anybody I nab above 58 MPH just doesn't give a fuck about my presence and will receive a token of my affection.

Feel free to use that expression if you care to.

When I did radar I usually wouldn't take them unless they were like 20 over, and then I was still pretty easy on them. I usually waited for the gangsters. There's so many people that need tickets versus need a caution. I used to love the excuses and BS....I gave points for creativity. Fuck sometimes I do miss the job. Peace out brother.

I know I'd be in the shit with the boss almost daily if I was still on the job....I miss what it was.

I remember being in the guard room when i was just new on the job and the old guys had an expression "the jobs fucked"....it has been repeated a million times, but I think now more than ever it's true. I can't for the life of me imagine starting out now, I guess you wouldn't know any better but what a shit show.

It was interesting, when I came on it was the tail end of old school and transitioning into the touchy feely stuff. We still got the job done.

I grew up in the neighbouhood that I ended up policing. I worked with a few guys who "kicked my ass" when I was a young fella. There was this copper, John Krisco, Gunsmoke. He'd shot a few people. He took my hockey stick when I was like 12 and I was playing road hockey. The guy was a real ball breaker....I ended up working with him when I got on the job. Funny, a solid copper, no bullshit thought.

How many tokens so far today?

Also, what are your opinions regarding police presence on Waze?

Gotta miss those hard charging days. Things are progressing so fast that I can barely keep up.

Only 3, and then caught up with some partners from the old department following this traffic collision:

Yeah it's a LIDAR gun. One is for inclement weather since laser bounces off water. The other buttons are for brightness, clearing errors, systems check, etc. I nabbed a 22 year old doing 68 MPH in a 40 MPH industrial area who also drove into the median and almost hit me. I almost took his car. Had he given me ANY lip I would've taken it for speed contest (...I heard him revving/racing another car). I only wrote him for speeding since he was respectful and he owned up to what he did.

P.S. Active shooter in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Multiple cops shot, multiple people dead, etc. Damn!

Funny stuff that radar. I reember one time I was driving down I think highway 5 in California. Early AM and a bit foggy. I'm driving a Merc sedan and doing about 80 in a 65 zone. Car comes up from behind so I don't care. Not my business he wants to go faster.

CHP passing me. Doesn't give me a second look.

CHP on the 5 at night in central valley were quite chill back in the 90s and 00s -- I've been passed up by CHP multiple times while I was going 85 MPH in a 65 MPH (before they raised the speed limit out there). No other cars around; I was driving attentively.

Don't drive much there now - not sure if that still applies.

This traffic collision occurred around 2200 hours last night. The driver of this truck was likely intoxicated. He failed to negotiate a turn, hit a curb, took out an entire traffic signal which peeled the passenger side of the truck off along with the roof and then hit another pole before coming to rest in the #2 lane. The driver bailed out and left his girlfriend in the truck, folded like a taco, but still alive. Both of her legs are being amputated as we speak. She also has a broken arm and other injuries. Despite all of that, she would not tell me nor the fire department who was driving the truck (...although I suspect the registered owner of the truck). I had to give the news to the injured party's sister and mother, who both sobbed uncontrollably. They know of the guy who drives the truck, but they couldn't provide me with a name at the time of my initial contact with them. Suffice it to say, I had a horrible 16 hour shift.

Hopefully you can put a cast together against the POS. Maybe when the passengers new reality sinks in she'll become more cooperative.

It looked even more awful. Her upper body faced northbound, her knees/legs southbound and touching her chest; her feet facing eastbound. Bones protruding....it was a mess. She was smashed between the seat back and the dashboard. I was almost certain it was a fatal.

I think he's cartel connected. She may not give him up, but her family might.

Seatbelts? That's really a mess, rather amazing she survived at all. It's sobering how fast accidents can turn so ugly, big reality check for her.

The first pole they hit rid that car of seatbelts; peeled it like a can. After that it was a Ford F-250 wrecking ball.

Word(s) of advice to everybody reading this....

....be mindful of yourself, but more importantly, who you get into the car with. She was Instagram live streaming as this crash took place. That's how her family knew she was in an accident.

You couldn't pay me enough to have to deal with this kind of tragedy regularly; to deal with the worst human shitstains, in their worst moments; then factor in the current social climate regarding law enforcement. No way! But Thank You for doing so.
