640d help with new wheels 🤕
hello! i have a 640d and i messed up with new wheels , got 21" concaver cvr5 9.5j front et20 rear 11.5j et38 ,tires are both front & rear 35 profile and too large for any lowering , if i went 30 & 25 profile would this make h&r springs possible? or have you any other tire suggestion or ideas to solve this or should i just call it a loss? Et is aggressive and car sits too high as i should have known it would before ordering 21" but i just didnt think and mistake is made now ! Car is on stock msport suspension i have ordered h&r springs.

You can see here better how high it is at front , and also images of the poke im working with, i do believe with smaller tires i could get that gap down with springs , also and image of the rear jacked up you can see how better it would be with a slight drop

I personally think it just looks wrong. The tires seem too narrow for the wheels - they look stretched - so that's some major curb rash waiting to happen, but the wheels just stick out too far, and there is no fixing that.

- There's nothing you can do to correct the offset & rim width. Changing tyres will not help, because higher profile tyre might not fit (?) although it would fill in the wheel arch better. Lower profile would look more off as the current one as it would be stretched even more. Wider would look better, but there is no space if you want to lower... - Better to sell the rims before curb rash gets you or tyre man scratches them while changing the tyres - liberty walk... |

My wheels are 20 inches but quite simillar in width. My fronts are 9.5 et20 running Michelin 275/35/20, and my rears are 11 et37 running 305/30/20. My car is on KW V3, and I set it quite low. I do get occasional small rub in the inner fender, but that is fine by me. For the front I suggest considering replacing the fenders with M6 fenders, as those will definitely clear your front wheels. The concave wheels looks awesome 👍

You are 0.5” wider and 5mm less offset than my fronts at 9” wide and 1” wider on the rears plus 2mm less offset than my 10.5” wheels at the same diameter. With all the work to install the springs I would hold off and get the H&R VTF adjustable springs which is what I have so you can dial the drop in to really work. I had to adjust my drop height twice already to not scrape already.
My rears are super flushed to the fenders and I could only imagine what yours would be. They might with the spring install sit on the wheel and you would have to tear all of it out. Just my 2 cents |

The fit was perfect. Make sure you buy a chisel set and grind the end blunt to remove the shock metal dust caps and a 3lb steel mallet. The adjustable collars won’t slip over them otherwise. Start with 40-45mm height from the bottom of the collar to the top section. I had to raise mine up from the suggested 30mm because my 21’s would scrape.

Yes, mine is yellow colour of the M carbon ceramic caliper. It sure will pop on your purple car, or silver will look great and subtle.
