I am about to start this task of updating maps. Are the instructions from the very first post still correct? I have ESYS ( only used it one time) but I see folks receiving a PM about it. I have a 2016 X5 so hoping someone could reply and let me know if instructions and links are still accurate and up to date. Thanks.

Oh I've done it now. Can I get a hand on this one? I loaded up the 2025 maps and it would like the code, but the code is giving me an "Incorrect code" error with the code I generated using the code generator. Any way I can please get a code for:

Hey Shawn, I can't DM you back so I'll write back here <3 that was my error as I spent the next few hours researching. Need to try to get that code. There's a guide I'll follow . If you're helping folks with codes with a magic hookup I'd love one while I wait for the special cable to get in if you can swing it!

EDIT it looks like the core of my issue seems to be an out of date XML file? I thought I was supposed to put my current version in the dropdown but it seems like I'm to put the desired version in there, but it only goes to 2022. Any thoughts?

EDIT 2 Oh I see! You need to edit the XML yourself with the data from the hex editor. Good to go there, but I need to extract that code. I wish Bimmercode could grab that! It can't, can it?

Got it going. Thanks to the guide writers and community. Might just be BMW's maps. Verified I'm on the new maps in settings, but the local road map is still looking way out of date. Missing whole neighborhoods that went in in 2023. Weird. I'd be super cross if I spent $495 (what BMW quoted me to do this)

Hello,
I extracted all both files after I downloaded it. Put in on the same USB I used for previous updates but this time I am keep getting message (after waiting for long time to start the map update) plug in USB1 but no option to continue only cancel. I also noticed that Config.nfs file size is 0. Is that correct?
