How bad are prices?
Hi everyone. I’m looking at a fully loaded 2015 650i convertible. Price is $45k with 17k miles. While this seems like a great deal from the $100k MSRP, I’m trying to figure out how much more I’m paying now with all the used car boom, than i would have a couple years back. Anyone have a sense of that?

I am of the opinion that now is not the time to buy a used car. 3 years ago I looked at a fully loaded 2016 650 GC with only 6,000 miles for $50k. The prices today are completely out of whack. If you can wait until next summer, I believe that everything will be normal. If you buy now, imho, you will lose an extraordinary amount of money when used car prices return to normal.

Yeah, that’s what I thought too. It’s hard to imagine a $100k car dropping much farther than 45% of value after 5 years though, so I was hoping someone would tell me that it wasn’t so far over priced! Thanks for replying.

Doesn't seem like a bad deal. I have a fully loaded 2017 650i with xDrive and 50K miles. I was offered $44K in trade (meaning a dealer is looking for $51K). 2 years newer than what your looking at but 33K more miles.

When a dealer says Fully Loaded it means BS. When an owner says Fully Loaded I think they mean every possible available manufacturer option, maybe -1.

Not necessarily. Dealers use the phrase fully loaded because it has no defined meaning, but within the last few months, including one on eBay right now, private sellers will say "has every single option available at the time." One is typically optioned, and the other had almost no options.

I just dropped 2k into mine. My dashboard leather started peeling back from the dashboard. Fortunately for me BMW paid 70% because of the mileage and that it is kept garaged. BTW I have driven a new M8 convertible. There is very little difference that you would notice between the two. I love the neck warmer but I hate the new instrument display. I also found it dismaying that the back seat is actually 1 inch smaller in the M8. Not understanding why they didn’t fix the one big problem with the 650. I would encourage you to buy the car. These are rare cars - they do not come to market much, and when they do, they are snapped up. If it has the options you want, you might not be able to find a similar car in the future. The 2015 is also best of breed - plenty of power, gorgeous looks (ruined in the new line), and most problems sorted out. Just my 2 cents!

In Feb this year I paid £17k for a 2015 facelift 640i grand coupe. With active cruise and drive assist package. Ok my mileage is 100k. Yep I took full advantage of the drop in prices. I love a bargain. I also DIY my cars so was not concerned about 100k plus mile maintenance.
Same car now is over 20k. Low mileage from 25k. Most lack options, my pet hate is missing buttons/blank plates. Have retrofitted comfort seats as well. Did it myself. |

Prices are way up on used cars. Not a great time to buy...only to sell if you have another means of transportation. I have a 2015 650i Xdrive gran coupe with everything but B&O and night vision. Only 27k miles and garage-kept. With all mods I am sure I can get over $40k for it. I gave it a good thought and decided not to sell as there is no way I would find another car with such low miles and such great condition.

Idk, i think You’ll be waiting a while, there is a lot of general inflation going on, the price drops you’ll see will be more related to the age of the car then anything by time it does go down, by that time you’ll probably be interested in something else. Prices on everything is up right now even wages which means things wont go backwards much.

I think deals (or at least a reasonable price) can still be had. At least I hope so as I picked up a 2012 650i with 56k miles on it for $26k. Body 9.5 out of 10 with the interior closer to a 10 out of 10. The thing is pretty immaculate!
Learning all the controls, however, is a pain in the butt. I’ll have to study the manual for a week or two. Cheers, and stay safe. Mamoru |

I just picked up a fully loaded 2014 650i gran coupe with 85k miles for 26,500 out the door, 2 days ago. Tax, title, fees, etc out the door. Full leather dash. Black with silver metallic paint and almost white leather (needs a proper detail not the crap the dealer does)
HUD, soft close doors, m sport pkg (with 20’s)… original sticker was circa 106k. She’s a damn beast, and I feel like I got the best deal possible given the insanity of the market. A year, or 2 ago I prob could’ve gotten the same for 22-25k. All things considered I’m very happy with my deal. I’ll be posting on the forums (just registered) cause I def need to mod it, and I’m a huge fan of doing my own work like I did on my cts-v, and 300c srt8… that and the USB port charging absolutely sucks. Might be the first, most necessary mod. |

I was trying to hold off until next year, but found what I thought to be a good deal - $35k for a 2014 640i convertible m-sport pack with only 20k miles.
The low mileage did it for me, I was seeing same spec with 40-70K miles for the around the same price or more |
