1972 Tales from the Crypt.
I can't remember if it was before I went with parents to see Deliverance of after, but another movie was the Tales from the Crypt movie (which was probably pretty tame compared to most films) but the skeleton on the motorcycle scene freaked me out.

Back in the days of this movie you had still VCR tapes and everybody was making copies of rented movies. I got a copy of this movie from a friend. It was a black anonymous VHS tape without any sticker on it. Right after the movie, which was truly terrying to watch because i didn't know what kind of movie it was, my wife an I looked at each other and I said if the phone now rings I will immediatly run outside.

Thank God it didn't

But Martyrs (the original french version) gave me real nightmares.

As a kid "The Amityville Horror" scared me. I'm talking the original one that came out in 1979.

Poltergeist

When that clown was sitting in the chair & then came out from under the bed that did me in. I have HATED clowns ever since.

I quit watching horror movies years ago. Now days, it's straight up demented sick shit.

Don't be a wuss. You must watch "It"! The remake, not the original one.

That is by far the best clown character I've seen.

Hard Candy is hard to watch.

Dead Ringers-brought a girl to see this on a 1st date. IDK!

Jacobs Ladder in the theater by myself was scary. Loved it.

Though the one in Daredevil is even better.

The Mist - I watched this on my own. Then I showed my wife. She was hysterically crying and as very very very mad at me for showing her that movie. So good.

Cannibal Holocaust - Saw this during a trip to Asia and I don't recommend it unless you just want to be sick to your stomach. I've read that some of the more graphic scenes were real and not faked.

I saw the same thing re: scenes being real and what not. This is the one movie (and I like disturbing movies) that my subconscious has blocked a lot of. I just recently watched it, within the past 2 years. Truly visually disturbing movie.

One of few decent remakes out there, although I still haven't bothered to watch the sequel.

Definitely a creepy clown, other creepy clowns of recent would probably also be Twisty the Clown of American Horror Story (TV Show).

I just read how the cast didn't want to do these scenes and one was openly weeping after each one. The director has since regretted doing the movie especially the scenes in question.

BTW it didn't help that the movie was basically shot documentary style and I was watching it subtitled from a bootleg dub. It was the Blair Witch of its time and even got the filmmakers charged with murder.

Didn’t read through all the comments so not sure if it was already mentioned but Robocop (1987) traumatized me when I was about nine watching it at the movies. Till this day I refuse to watch the scene where officer Murphy gets shot up a million times.

However, the scenes of the 6000 SUX? I’d buy that for a dollar.

Just before E.T. was released (1982, I think), a traveling salesman gave me a copy on Beta tape. The quality was really poor, but it was kind of fun to watch. I got the impression someone smuggled a Beta movie camera into a private screening theater to make the copy. From there, I think it got copied again.

I really like horror and disturbing movies. Plus I'm virtually emotionally numb. So not much affects me.

But on a different aspect of disturbing, the only movie I just can't watch again because it's just too sad is; Seven Pounds.
I'll get emotional for a good movie. But this one was just on another level. There was not something in my eye, I was flat out crying my eyes out.

If I had to pick a scary movie, Misery.
Mostly because I was young when I seen it. The only scene I can recall is when she takes the sledge and breaks his ankles. Still gives me shivvers.

You should check out the unrated version. It's brutal.

Funny story about the Blair witch Project. Went to see in the theater with a girlfriend. The movie ended and we walked out to our car to leave. We are driving home and girlfriend asked me why Mike was standing in the corner of the cellar at the end of the movie. I explained it to her and she started screaming. Mind you The movie is over and we are driving home. Loved that girl.
