i owned one for about a year. its an awesome machine and very fun... but only under 70mph.
I doubt this thing will offer much improvement over the current gen.. otherwise its going to cut into the 4 cylinder supra sales.

If this thing gets the 255hp/295lb-ft Supra 2 liter turbo, it would be a total blast with the manual. Aftermarket will make it even better. Not holding my breath though. Watch them stick a low tq NA motor in it.
I like the Acura tail lights. Last edited by 5.M0NSTER; 07-02-2020 at 02:14 AM.. |

There are subtle changes all over. The original wasn't a bad looking car so there's no need to stray too far from that design. I believe it's going to come with an non-turbo FA24 engine so a bump in displacement at least. Hopefully they can properly tune this engine as the torque dip in the 2.0L just kills the current car as it got so wheezy under full throttle.

I think this is a perfect car for amateur drivers. They can safely understand the dynamics of driving without power levels that will overburden them. |

The only way i see it selling well is if they put a turbo engine in it. Even if its just a 1.5t but preferably a 2.0t making about 250-260hp otherwise there is no point in paying a premium for this over a lightly used brz

As with most cars, the cheaper they are the more access this more people can mod them cheaply with cheap parts ie e36 m3s and e46 m3s The bay area is filled with beat to shit and poorly modded bargain basement BMWs |

Like, between the two versions of the Supra and the frs they have three cars that I consider good but fatally flawed enough I’d never consider buying one new. |

Wow so they're going full Lexus IS with this car too? Even if they finally up the power, nobody's going to want to put up with that trash interior. They're just trying to hang onto the few customers they have.

Supposedly Nissan is going the same route with the next Z. Also isn't the 981 and 982 pretty similar? The dimensions between the two are nearly identical.

The whole Boxster/Cayman situation seemed odd to me. The 982 was no more than a refresh with new engines. Seems they only did it due to global emissions regulations forcing them to move to 4 cyl engines. They marketed it as an all-new car but it wasn't. For an 8 yr old car, the 981/982 still looks fresh.
