Anything better looking than a 6 series?

I've got a 2016 coupe. Love the body style. Can't think of a Bmw that looks better. My 2020 440 convertible is fun, but next to my 6 series, looks like a dog LOL. What do others think?

Well...this devolved quickly into the f06/f12/f13 (4dr grand coupe vs 2dr vert vs 2dr coupe) divide.

But seriously...this question is like walking into fine steak house restaurant and saying to the crowd...."ah man, isn't this rib eye better than having chicken nuggets for dinner?" Probably everyone in the joint is going to agree with you except maybe a few small kids that got dragged along with mom and dad...and would prefer to be at McDonalds having those nuggets then going to play in the Ronald McDonald playground.

Hilarious analogy.

The 6, in each of its forms, is truly one of the nicest looking BMWs I can recall in the past 20 years. I've said it before, but this is exactly why I was so disappointed in what they did with the 8. The concept had such great potential, and then they ultimately screwed it up - made it look like a weird bulbous fastback Mustang-ish knock-off that also lacked the clean, sweeping lines of the 6.

Throughout the years, there's always been something in the BMW line-up to look forward to as a new car. This is the first moment in roughly 20 years of driving BMWs where I'm truly at a loss with the brand. There may be some hope for an i8 replacement that finally ticks the performance box for the price point... and doesn't feel like it's lacking modern tech. Or the next 7 series. We'll see. But that means holding onto the 6 for at least several more years.

While I'm not a fan of electric cars (largely due to lack of proper infrastructure to make them truly convenient) just yet, I have to say... the Taycan, the more I look into it, is very alluring.

Yhe only thing I can think of better looking the the 6 as a daily driver is my wife. Maintenance cost are lower with her but purchase price was higher. I can't ride her as hard as the 6 and the 6 is faster too.

Just kidding everyone. Saturday night humor.

Love all 3 styles of the 6, if their convertible would've been a hardtop then it would've been perfect for me. But unfortunately it never has been, hence the 440 convertible too.

I think the soft top 6 looks so sleek, unlike the bulbous hard tops. However, it is less practical and I have seen leak issues with the soft top.

Better looking? In the BMW lineup definitely not, but I quite like Panameras and A/S7s.

I test drove a 4 series covert before I bought my 6. Suitability for long road trips is my main criteria. The trunk space is both limited and weird, but I could make it work. My wife thought it was boring looking with the hardtop. But oh my god, the noise. The road noise with run flats on the highway was just ridiculous. No way I could buy it. The 6 is so massive it absorbs most of that noise. Why do you not like soft tops?

A/S7 I get, as I rather like Audis, but you actually think a Panamera is a better looking car than a 6? So roundy and bloated looking - like somebody over-inflated a Porsche balloon.

Talking, of course, about the latest gen Panamera. To me it looks like an extended 911 <3.
The previous gen was an abomination.

Don't like soft tops due to cabin noise, extra maintenance, and easy to break into the vehicle.

Yes, but they do look far better than the hard top verts.

Not always. The Mercedes SL is perfection. You would never even know it is convertible until the top is down the styling is so good. Granted the rest of the styling on the latest version is so-so, but the top integration is seamless.

They did a good job with that vert. But looking at BMW, the 6 vert roof line is so nice and sleek compared to the 4 vert roof lines (hard top).

Yeah, I agree. The 4's top looks like a little dome or something or a football helmet. Plus I'm just sort of old-fashioned - convertibles are supposed to be cloth, setting aside the late 50s Fords. Somebody shot a BB through the top of a 1980s Chrysler convertible I had, but otherwise I have never had one vandalized in 30+ years of ownership, and I park them outside a lot in a major city.

Very hard to answer the question objectively because it is down to personal taste but:

If i was looking for a 2-door coupe at the same price band, it would probably be the Mercedes AMG C63s which can look stunning in the right spec/trim. Maybe the new Audi RS5. BMW UK sent me the new 850i for a week and were pretty shocked when i returned it in 3 days because it was, yawn, where do i begin...

If I was looking for a prettier 2 door coupe with a significantly more refined and premium interior, it would have to be the S-Class Coupe, very likely the S500 or even the S350. Handling not as taut as the 6er but with AMG suspension, just as good.

But the Bentley Conti V8 is the one you really want.

The new Mercedes CLS350 is a stunning looking car - does give the 6GC a run for its money in terms of looks (and better interior and screen tech)

Both the 2 door and 4 door gran coupe are gorgeous cars but in my opinion there are other coupes that rival (or are better looking) than the 6 coupe. The Porsche 911, Mercedes S class coupe and a few others come to mind. HOWEVER, I am having a problem finding a better looking 4 door than the 6GC. The Panamera, CLS, A/S/RS7, 8 series GC are simply not as pretty at the 6GC. In my opinion, the ONLY 4 door vehicle on the market that can hold a candle to the 6GC in the looks department is the Aston Martin Rapide. Ok and the new Porsche Taycan. Both the Rapide and Taycan are out of my price range (and I'm not an electric car guy), thus the dilemma in trying to find an eventual replacement for my 6GC.
