Stage 1 ECU flash
Hi,
Looking to get my stock GC flashed. Been looking at a few options such as Mission Performance and VfEngineering. Seems that Mission is making way more power. Anyone running eight that can give me feedback?? |

There's a lot of options. I recently went with Bootmod3. It was like $900 and you get one of their "stage" tunes, either 1 or 2. Car was night and day different with stage one. So $900 for a safe ~100hp jump. Well worth it. I recently paid to have a couple different tuners generate different tunes depending on what I want. That cost was significant but they are full custom tunes tailored to my car. If you're looking for just stage 1 performance then bm3 is your best bet.

I would look into BM3 as it is a great tune and platform. We are in SoCal as well and can help with getting it installed for you. Can have you in and out in 30 mins

Interested also anyone have dyno numbers for the stage 1 bootmod3?
I don't see myself past a stage 1 nor care about burbles so it's either spending $900 or $1500 but if the $1500 tune gives me more benefit then I think it's money well spent. Same goes if the bootmod3 is the same then no sense spending extra lol |

no dyno for that price but mission, bpm,ess tuning are in that price range.
I know halim from hcp provides the OTS Stage 1 tune on bootmod3 and can do custom tune also. If power is minimal I agree that there is no difference. Wish I can see a stock m5/M6 on OTS Stage 1 dyno so I have a baseline. Been searching and closest I came was m5 but ran 3 gallons of e85 so its really $1500 BPM, Mission, ESS Tuning vs $900 bootmod3 OTS Stage 1 Last edited by Mnite_S63; 04-26-2018 at 10:18 AM.. |

I thought the M-Boot was something else. I guess it is for the software that is on my laptop that allows me to go back to stock or flash back to tuned. Still $1350 is still not $1500 but I get what you're saying. I just like Mission Performance because of Alex's great customer service and skill. Aside from that you get one of the best tunes available for the car and it has been tried and tested including on Alex's personal M5.

What is the power increase for Stage 1 93 octane for Bootmod3? Can you flash back to stock undetected by BMW for the $900?
Can someone that did it comment on the car drivability? Thanks |

So far that one looks like the best option for now, it comes with a separate device you can use for monitoring, gives you unlocked rom file you can play with, gives you several off the shelf tune files, and is cheaper too. They are actually selling the hardware and not the tunes but their tune seems pretty good, check out the M5 mod sections for more posts about openflash |
