Anyone install vorsteiner aero side?
Got my sides in, needs some tips for install. Took my factory skirts off and test fit blades, used supplied hardware to align then taped the skirts in place. How do I secure skirts back to car on the bottom side? Seems like I can't use old hardware to secure to plastic nuts on the car and hardware that came with skirts is too small/short. Not sure why supplied hardware uses 5 short and 2 long bolts. I can rig something up, just wanted to know what others have done? I will most likely open up the holes at three locations(front/mid/rear) on skirts and purchase longer/bigger bolts to attach to existing nuts on car.

In any case, I would PM "bigbrian" because he has some expertise in this area.

Got mine installed, just get some m7-1 50mm hex bolts from home depot. I used three per side (each end and center) for the rest of the holes I just used the supplied hardware to hold the blade to the skirt. You will need to remove the nuts underneath the car at these locations. Also test fit my rear diffuser, need to adjust my exhaust because of fitment issues

Do you have a part number from Home Depot? My installer communicated with Vorsteiner and they told him the bolts they sent were the correct hardware. Good luck with your rear diffuser fitment!

Same hardware as M6, they are in the hardware section drawers, one per pack. Everbilt 563 047, hex bolt M7-1.0 x 50mm. Not sure what size the stock plastic screws are but these are the closest to it and engages the threads under the car. Good luck.

I have found in general Vorsteiner ships screws that are on the short side. The ones they supply will probably work but I went out and bought longer screws for some of their aero pieces.

We use the same bolts, because we also found the Vorsteiner screws to be a bit on the short side... However, we used 4 per side in addition to the double sided tape, just as a precaution

Are these side skirts lower than the stock ones? I would assume they must be, or they have something that the stock ones don't have. Does anybody have any measurements on how much difference there is? I've been thinking about them but I've got some clearance issues. Then again, I've got a GC and I don't think they make them for that model.

You have at least a 5 inch clearance after install.

Bump. I am installing my side blades currently and I need some help.
There are a total 9 mounting points on the blades. The 6 closest to the front of the car use the below types of mounting screws. I easily was able to find longer ones that can go up through the blades with the correct thread. Now, the 3 closest to the rear use the below type of fasteners. I tried a couple different fasteners but did not have much luck. Does anybody have recommendations on what to use for the rear 3? I currently have VHB tape holding the rear on which is working surprisingly well but would prefer obviously to have them firmly mounted to the car. Thanks in advance anybody for assistance! |

Long needed bump. I just had my car into the dealership this past week and even they couldn't find anything for the rears. Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Am I understanding it correctly that underneath the car there are already mounting points for these side skirts and all that’s needed are longer screws? Or will I need to tap into the bare metal to fasten these securely to the car?
I just got the set in and am curious to know before I get to working on them! |

I was able to get the skirts on no problem and everything lined up well. First 6 I used M7-1 screws, the last 3 don’t have threads inside the holes. They are empty and intended to have a plastic fastener hold the stock fender down as mentioned above. What did you guys use for the last 3? |
