Brake pads....
Any bros here switched to ceramic brake pads? Any recommendations beside Akebono? I am looking for rear as well. I am happy with the stock brake performance but can't stand the brake dust.......

I dipped my wheels in Armor All, still no go. And brake dust really dulls the black chrome surface......... It makes it easier to clean but I want to fix the problem at the source (prevention)....

Ouch, have you tried Maguire's Hot Rims® Brake Dust Barrier? I heard it is even better. I tried Armor All and it is not bad, but I don't drive 6er that often.

I would still prefer to have less brake dust to begin with, then you have to worry about protecting the wheels from dust.

I think the stock OEM pads are actually pretty dust free, esp. compared to my Brembo pads that I had on my previous car.
I've heard that the ceramic pads can be quite squeaky. |

Is Wheel Wax difficult to apply? It sounds like having to apply wax to wheel which seem like a chore. I don't use Armor All for anything but just that since it is easy enough, but I want to try Maguire's after this can.

Wheel Wax is a soft paste that has to dry before removal - like an old fashion body paste wax but softer and easier. Still, it can be a little bit of a pain especially in tight spaces, but only needs to be applied every three months or so.

I use Meguair's Brake Dust Barrier spray to control brake dust. You just need to clean your rims and spray it on once. Certainly does keep brake dust from adhering to the rims as claimed. Any stubborn stains will wash off simply by spraying water. Check out the video demo below:

Interesting product, will give it a try when doing a major detailing on the car.

I didn't follow the instructions at the first attempt and ended up with some areas that were not perfectly coated. Had to remove and reapply. Please follow the instructions to avoid disappointments. |

I bought the only can my local Meguair's retailer had available a few months back. It was not even in their inventory list then as it was tucked away amongst a bunch of other new products that they were going to test the market with. Hope you get hold of the product in less time than 3 weeks. |
